L.A. Events Point To Battle For Democratic Votes In Governor's Race
AP

Sept. 19 - The battle for Democratic votes in the governor's race was evident today at two Los Angeles-area events.
Massachusetts Senator John Kerry rallied Democratic support for gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides at a campaign appearance in West Hollywood.

And Governor Schwarzenegger signed a landmark school bill in downtown Los Angeles flanked by two leading Democrats, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez.

Kerry told about 75 people in a West Hollywood auditorium that California families are paying thousands of dollars more for gas, education, health care and other costs since Schwarzenegger took office.

Schwarzenegger signed legislation giving Villaraigosa partial control over the sprawling L-A Unified School District.

Isn't it sad that Angelides and Kerry could only gather 75 people in West Hollywood?

And yet another outsider shows that they've used incorrect, secondhand knowledge to determine West Hollywood's political tendencies.

I would have said the same of the same stat anywhere in the Los Angeles area... 75 people is a pretty miserable showing in a very heavily populated area of true blue county.

really, ya dumb neo con trailer trash, think about it

What does it really matter? Arnold Schwarzenegger has been so completely, utterly and thoroughly

BITCH SLAPPED

that he might as well be a Democrat now.

Who would have imagined Ahhhnuld would have ever signed a minimum wage increase into law, a year ago? No self respecting right winger would surrender to such a thing. God knows Governor Romney in Massachusetts got his ass kicked, but unlike Ahhhhnuld, he put up a fight with a veto.

Besides, Angelides is a straight up crook. He had people hack into a computer system and then fall on a sword for him. Me, I'm voting independent again.

I guess Kerry doesn't think any other Gov. has done a good job either then eh? In case he hasn't noticed the exact same thing could be said for people in every state in the country.

What I've always heard about Californians is that they just don't pay much attention to politics, period. Plus, Arnold has trended blue for election year, which I assume will be forgotten once he's safely re-elected.

Hole in one. But he's already signed the minimum wage increase. Can you imagine a bigger surrender for a Republican?

This year he's a RINO... next year, however, who knows?

 I heard it on the news this morning driving to work... I had to wait till I got home to make sure they hadn't mispoke.

Kerry has to have an ego as big as all outdoors to even consider another run. Damn.

I know. That's because you are ignorant about the area.

From the State of Californa as of May 22, 2006:

Los Angeles County:

Democrat: 1.929, 931 (50.27%}
Republican: 1,023,730 (26.66%)

Here's the link: California Voter Registration by County

"Voter Registration".

I'll let someone else explain to you why that doesn't have much bearing on voter turnout...and even less on potential voter participation at a Monday rally event. Especially one held in West Hollywood.

Crayolas with "Vote for Phil Angelides" on them? He's really going after the hard core liberals.
