Knowledge and Seclusion

Darian watched her pace back and forth, wanting to say something to calm her. He saw the thoughts working in her head, her need to put everything in its place. He waited for the pause in the thought process to interject his own thoughts.

"Yes it was a lycan I saved you from those years ago, though I am not sure what he was doing around those parts at the time. And as for everything else..." Darian stood as he said this, walking over to her and sweeping her up into his arms so she would stop pacing. He looked deep into her questioning blue eyes and kissed her deeply, hoping that simple act would answer all her doubts. But in case it didn't he told her anyways.

"It means my dear Kanya, that I will be around to protect you whenever you wish it, through thick or thin. I do not know if you could bare me children or not, I have never found someone before now that i would wish to have children with. We can live the same way we have been doing here and I will not feed off of you nor make you what I am unless it is your wish. And I would never, ever ask you to be anything other than my beloved..." Darian took a deep breath and finished "What I mean to say Kanya is that if you would have me I would like to become your husband when you are ready to have me. I promise to honor and protect you as I always have." Darian smiled at her and awaited her response.

Kanya laid breathless in his arms, her eyes dancing into his emerald ones. He wanted her despite her independent nature, and violent tongue. She raised her hand and brushed it gently over the contours of his face.

Her lips found his again as she kissed him again. The softness of their lips caressing each others as their tongues danced with a tender passion. Slowly she broke the kiss looking up at him breathlessly, and with a teasing smile said
"I suppose then Sir, if it is a proposal you are offering you should probably deliver it accurately, after all a lady would expect nothing less."she laughed at little and continued "now put me down, for we should return to the manor so you can work the nerve to ask my father for my hand, and figure out how you are going to propose to me so that i will have a story to reveal to our children that will be a tale that they will retell their own."

Slowly he placed her down upon the ground as they walked to the horses and rode back to the manor. As they reached the point in the hall where they would have to part she smiled to him "good night my lord" she said softly as she kissed him softly again and entered her room.

Kanya was overwhelmed with a feeling of sublime bliss. He loved her, he wanted to be with her forever. Yes he was a vampire, but that wasn't who he was, it merely meant that he was more gallant and more charming. It meant that he was meant to be her protector, her equal, her husband, her partner.
She laid her head upon the pillow clutching her necklace in her hands and drifted off into an elated sleep.

Darian went to sleep that night elated at the prospect of finally having someone that wasn't afraid of his nature. Kanya loved him despite the fact he was a vampire and he was glad to know that she wasn't bothered by it. He spent the next day helping her father in the study before the question came to mind. Calling for his attention Darian asked him very assuredly for Kanya's hand in marriage, promising to her father that he would always take care of her and love her always. Her father agreed with a smile, saying how good it will be to have someone to look after his Kanya. Darian then set about to figuring out a way to ask Kanya to marry him. He already knew that she would say yes but how to ask her in such a way that she would be breathless...

She saw Darian only briefly during the day giving him a smile and always fidgeting with the necklace he gave her. Her father it seemed had told her mother who was being simply abominably motherly. Yet none approached her with it. It would seem that Darian had advised he still needed to purpose. Another ball was approaching in a couple of nights. Her mother took her to town to find a new gown. Kanya didn't really like being away from Darian's eyes, she hadn't asked about the things he could do, or couldn't do. She wasn't quite sure what special abilities he possessed.

She had made her way to the library, advising she needed to find a book to keep her occupied. Her mother frowned but let her go as she continued to secretly shop for the wedding that should be soon gracing their manner. Finally her daughter would be getting married. That was if she excepted him. But so far Lord Silver hadn't gone running. Was it possible that she could have actually found a man that could handle her? It didn't matter, she was now getting to plan for her daughters wedding. Spending money was always something that the upper class women liked to do.

Kanya found a small section of writings about 'things that go bump in the night' as she called them. She sat down at a table and began to read. It would seem that there were several different accounts of what vampires could and could not do. There were several accounts of the difference between true vampires, and those that were made. She wondered of which her soon to be betrothed was. Eventually she closed the books and made her way to rendezvous with her mother. Pretending not to notice her mothers attempt to hide some lace she had picked out.

Dinner came around and Kanya and Darian exchanged glances of two that were in a love beyond the word its self.

Darian spent the better part of the day trying to figure out a good way to approach the proposal. Kanya had said that she wanted it to be one to remember but how was he supposed to impress a woman who didn't even care he was a vampire. Darian sighed and continued to ponder the thought until Kanya's mother came and reminded him of the upcoming ball. Darian nodded to her readily letting her know he was planning to go pick out a new outfit for the ball.

Darian spent the better part of the evening in town at a tailor shop who catered to the night customers. He admired the outfit that the tailor was working on knowing that Kanya would find it attractive. It was a deep wine red to offset his green eyes, the coat having tails that hung to the backs of his thighs. Nodding, Darian paid the tailor and asked to have it delivered to the manor the next day.
As Darian walked home he was greeted kindly by others walking on their way home for the night. Darian stopped at a flower peddler's booth as he was closing up shop and picked up a large bouquet of flowers for his lovely Kanya.

Once back at the manor he snuck up to her room while she slept and placed the flowers on her nightstand next to her bed. He smiled and kissed her very lightly upon the forehead and whispered that he loved her before getting ready to leave the room and go to sleep himself.

As Darian entered Kanya's room she whimpered"Don't die, please don't die" as the nightmare of the kidnapping replayed in her head. When he kissed her forehead she smiled an reached out for him. "don't go don't leave me" she was still half asleep as the dream had changed to him coming back alive and Reilly disappearing. Her eyes fluttered lightly as she opened them to see his outline. "you're my protector" she mumbled still half asleep. As she became more awake she smiled at him "I don't care to be apart from you so long, promise me when we're married you won't be gone so long. If you have to be you'll take me with you." She frowned at little at the realization he'd have business trips and such to go on. "Promise me"she repeated again.

It was quite evident that she didn't feel safe unless he was near her. After all she'd been through, he'd always been the one there to save her. "Come sit with me a little" she mumbled.
"I went to the library today, to try an find out more about Vampires, an there was so many myths i don't know what to believe. They say there are two types, the ones that are born that way, and the ones that are made that way. The ones that are born that way are the ones with the most power, they can take bits of sun, just not extreme amounts, they are the ones more likely to interact with society. They say the made ones are the ones that are confused lost souls, that draw attention to their kind. They say that a human and a male Vampire can have children, that will be combination of them both. But its rare for two vampires to have children, unless they are both pure vampires."

"whats true?" she questioned softly.

Darian sat on the bed with her, listening to her tell about doing research on his kind. He smiled gently and brushed a soft hand through her hair and over her cheek, his eyes looking into her own as he took a deep breath and tried to remember all the tales he had been told. His mind wandered back through ages and ages of stories, legends and lore to recall all that had been said about vampires.

“It is true that there are two types of vampires, the created and the born. However, I do not know what powers each of the types have. I know that I can stand to be out during twilight hours but not in direct sunlight, I do have more strength than your average human, and I can run faster than an average human.” Darian stated with a small smirk, recalling the most recent events.

His eyes widened at the question of having children. Wait, did that mean Kanya had thought about having children with him? Darian thought to himself. He cleared his throat, his cheeks flushing crimson briefly, before answering her question.

“Well I am not sure as to the truth of bearing children Kanya. I have always wanted children though I am unsure as to whether I could have any in my condition." Darian looked deep into her eyes and smiled softly at her before continuing, "That is just one reason for it. The other is I never thought I would find someone who I would want to bear children with, until now."

Kanya listened intently to what he said formulating more questions in her mind. She enjoyed the tenderness in which his hand had stroked her hair and cheek. Her eyes danced up to him with wonder as he answered her questions.

"were you born a vampire? Or were you made a vampire? tell me the story of you." she said softly after he seemly stirred at the idea of children. Kanya placed her elbow on the bed and propped her head up on her head. Looking at him almost in a childlike manner as if he was about to tell her a bedtime story. She loved listening to Darian talk. There was something soothing about his voice, an old world knowledge that seemed to be there without his knowledge. She could understand apprehension from most humans that may have with the knowledge she did. But she had seen his true character. In his words and in his actions, which always seemed to ring true. Yes he was different, but in actuality so was she. Perhaps together they were two black sheep that were able to find happiness only with each other. Perhaps they had kindred souls, she wasn't sure. She only knew that soon she wouldn't ever have to be parted from him again.

Darian smiled down into her blue eyes and made ready to tell her his story. He searched deep in his mind for his history to tell her, wanting to give her the shorter version of his history.

"I was technically born what I am today. My father was a true vampire, my mother the woman he loved for a long time. About 125 years ago they had one child, a boy, that inherited his father's eyes and his mother's smile, and that child would be me. I was allowed to go out sometimes when it was still sunny out with my mother, though not for long periods of time. As I grew older I started to come into my vampiric powers, watching as they grew with the years. I moved to Italy with my father about 6 decades ago, to help him with his holdings in the country and that is when he asked me to start looking for a wife. Well to make a long story short, none of the women there were what I was looking for so I traversed back to England and met you. The rest as they say is history."

Darian finished the story with a small entertaining flourish, grinning at her before sitting back down on the bed with her. He seemed lighter now, like a greater weight had been lifted from him than ever before. He ran his hand over her cheek again, enjoying the feel of her soft skin against his hand. He teasingly brought the hand over her lips, the small tingle that it brought running up his arm and down his back. He leaned down and kissed her deeply, his entire person being captured in her eyes as she looked at him. Why does this girl hold me so? What is this compelling power that she has over me that I feel like I can't break free of? Darian wondered to himself

Kanya listened intently as he gave her his short story, wondering at what point he had come and saved her, and how it seemed there were certainly some parts he left out.
As he broke their kiss she smiled at him. "thank you for sharing a bit of what makes you who you are with me. So your mother was human, and her and your father, they had you." she spoke as if she was processing again. So it was possible for her to have his child. Nothing would make her happier other then being able to leave a part of herself with him when she died. She frowned lightly at that thought. Leaving Darian one day, knowing how it would break his heart. She would just have to be sure that everyday she had with him, he knew how much she loved him. That he knew how much a part of her he had become.

"Is that where we'll live?" she questioned "Will we live in Italy on your fathers lands?" She smiled at him, her hand going over his face lighting, as she could feel the light stubble. "I think you bewitched me" she said softly leaning forward and kissing him again. Her eyes went to the table and she smiled softly "thank you for the flowers by the way." she spoke in almost a whisper her eyes searching his for whatever it was he seemed to be hiding. She took his hand and kissed it lightly "I fear my love if you do not propose soon my mother will simply have the wedding with out you." she said teasingly.

She knew he had to be tired and kissed him softly again "until tomorrow mi lord" she said softly watching him rise from the chair. She felt as though her heart would rip from her chest as she listened to his good nights and watch him walk from the room. It was almost as if a hole had opened in her heart and her longs refused to breath. How was it possible for one man to have such an effect. She wasn't sure, the only thing she was certain of, was she couldn't be without him.

Darian left her room that night feeling better than he had when he went in. Truth be told he didn’t know if he would be able to live on his father’s lands. His father had told him that it was time that he went looking for the other half of his heart, and though it confused him at the time, Darian left the lands behind him in order to search for it. Now that he had found her here in the New World, it was time to take her home back to Europe. Darian sighed and ran a hand through his hair, tugging the ribbon used to tie it out. Where could he take her that they would be safe from harm from the hunters? Shaking his head Darian walked to his room, yawning very slightly and thinking about the ball tomorrow night.

The day of the ball finally arrived and Kanya was dragged out with her mother again. Darian snuck away from his work long enough to give her a last minute kiss while no one was looking, one to keep her happy while out with her mother shopping. Darian set to his work in the study, only stopping long enough to receive his parcel from the tailor shop.

Once twilight fell, Darian slipped into a warm bath, letting the warm water absorb all his cares and worries. He scrubbed himself clean of all the dust and sweat that had accumulated and he even had a chance to wash his long hair with some scented soap that one of the maids had left in there for him.

After his bath, Darian began to get dressed in his new outfit, admiring how the color looked on him. He had managed to get his breeches on before there was a knock at his room door. Darian called for the person to enter, not thinking about his current state of dress as he turned to see who was at his door.

She frowned lightly as he left her room without answering all her questions. She smiled then at the thought of how with him she was always left wanting. Sleep took her as she dreamed of her and Darian standing upon a cliff overlooking the water, watching the sun go down over the horizon. A soft breeze flowing through their hair an clothes. The feeling of warmth surrounding them as their love seemingly seeped into the others pores.

She awoke to the draperies being pulled open and the sun shining in upon her face. "bloody hell" she muttered with first a frown, but then a smile. Tonight her and Darian would be able to dance the night away.

Kanya frowned when her mother advised they were going shopping again, Darian had pulled her off into the pantry and given her a deep lingering sensual kiss that was to tide her over in his absence. She smiled as her mother dragged her from shop to shop, her lips tingling as she day dreamed like a love sick school girl. Her mother took ever opportunity of her daughters complacent mood. It was rare Kanya would agree to anything.

Eventually they made it home, and Kanya took her bath and began the long process of getting dressed. She placed a kiss upon her kerchief and had the maid take it to Darian. It merely reaffirmed that she was his.

The maid took tracked Darian down and knocked on his door. When he said to enter, she did gasping at the half dressed man before her. She placed her hand over her eyes and handed him the kerchief. "Mistress asked me to give this to you sir she said holding out her hand with the kerchief between two fingers. Once he took it she scurried from the room, her face flushed with embarrassment.

As always she was the last one down and her eyes stayed glued to his as she descended. Her pink gown with maroon trimming flowed as the emeralds he had given her still graced her long delicate neck.

She took his arm and they loaded into the carriage. Her mother was beside herself at her daughters apparent admiration with her soon to be husband. Yet Darian still had not purposed to her daughter as she'd hoped.

As they entered and were announced all eyes were upon them. However Kanya's were glued to Darian as she allowed him to lead her wherever he chose.

Darian had finished getting dressed quickly after scaring the maid off. He had forgotten that he was not in his own house were he was known to walk around as such, enjoying the cool night air on his skin. Shrugging slightly he joined Kanya's parents at the bottom of the staircase to await Kanya's slow entrance down the stairs.

As Kanya descended the stairway, Darian couldn't help but think of how beautiful she was no matter what state she was in. Whether she was acting her nature and being wild or she was behaving as a lady should by society standards, she was stunning. He noticed this time that her eyes never left his as she descended the staircase and that they seemed to have a sort of playful sparkle to them. He smiled at her and offered his arm leading her out to the carriage to take them to the ball.

Darian made small talk with Kanya's father, occasionally asking Kanya's opinion on a particular subject matter, showing both her mother and father that Kanya's opinions mattered to him and did not scare him. As they arrived they unloaded from the carriage and made their way into the main hall where they were announced to the other guests.

Darian smiled to himself as the usual looks came from the women within the room, the glares at Kanya for taking him and the swooning looks as they admired him. He laughed a bit and whispered in her ear, telling her how he was going to make them even more jealous tonight. Chuckling softly he placed a kiss on her cheek quickly and walked her out to the dance floor, taking the position with her for the first dance.

As they began to dance, Darian's heart filled with joy at being this close to her. Their feet glided over the floor effortlessly as they twirled and danced round and round the room. He looked down into her eyes and smiled, his own eyes twinkling with mirth and a bit of mischeviousness.

It had became apparent to Kanya's mother on the ride over, that indeed her daughter had not merely become smitten an calmed. In fact she was still the same, and merely found a man that would accept, complete and encourage it.

"oh Darian" she laughed lightly as he advised he was going to make the whole room jealous. "I believe the women already are, and the men, well give me a few more opportunities to express my thoughts and they will simply be relieved that my mother hasn't forced them to dance with me. "

"you didn't answer me last night" she advised as they twirled about. "where are we going to live?. I think its safe to assume you won't allow me to go run off an be an Indian squaw, does that mean we can go back to Europe?"

Darian laughed lightly as he continued to dance with Kanya, his eyes sparkling with mirth as he regarded her with love and adoration. He continued to spin and twirl her about the center of the dance floor as they other people present watched them.

"Yes Kanya, we can return to Europe if you so desire. I hope to travel with you before settling down into one house, but it up to your wishes as to what we actually do. I have traveled for many years and seen many things, but I feel they will have a new excitement to them when I am with you." Darian answered her question finally. He had given it enough thought over the last day and had come to the conclusion that his family could wait a bit longer to meet the other half of his heart.

The clock struck midnight in the expansive hall and Darian's smiled broadened as the dance set came to a close. He motioned for Kanya to stay put as he turned to the rest of the room and let his voice echo among the pillars of the hall.

"Ladies and gentlemen, if I might have your attention please, I have an announcement to make." Darian watched as the power of his voice started to take hold. The many faces within the hall turned towards him, something in his voice commanded them to pay attention. Darian continued his speech, turning towards Kanya with a sweet smile as he took her soft hands within his own.

"As most of you know, I have been courting the young Miss St. Claire with her parents permission. I have stayed with the St. Claires recently and worked with her father, but I have come to fall in love with Miss St. Claire. I asked her father for permission to marry her and now I ask for hers." With that Darian kneeled in front of Kanya and presented her with a ring of gold, set with a diamond and two emeralds. Darian looked up into Kanya's face and asked her the question that had been formulating in his mind all his life.

"Miss St. Claire, will you honor me in being my beloved other half?"

Kanya smiled as Darian finally advised where they would live. "Thank you" she said with a smile as her eyes danced at his decision that they would go back to Europe. There were so many places she wanted to see and he would be by her side as she finally got to visit them. Too often it had been thought of as uncouth for a woman to be an adventurer.

She watched with amazement as he gathered all of the rooms attention with a few words. She even found herself captivated by his voice and watched inamusement as the women wept at his announcement of not only courting her, but had gone as far to make the request for her hand to her father. The men seemed angered and some even devastated as they glared and looked as though they'd just lost their titles.

Her eyes again met Darians as he went down on one knee. Her knees felt week and her hand trembled in his. She felt as though at any moment she may faint, her heart was racing so fast. Her breaths were short, and it took all she had not to interrupt him, take the ring, shove it on her finger, and jump into his arms. Never in her life had she been so anxious as for him to ask her the question she'd already told him yes to.

As he presented her the ring and asked her to be his other half, the tears came to her eyes and she smiled nodding, for once she had no words to utter. However like all good things yet to come, she was able to eventually mutter a yes.

There were applause, some delayed but it was decorum and soon the whole room cheered as he slipped the ring on her finger. The preciseness and perfection of the jewels in the ring only complimented the emeralds around her neck.

Time seemed to stand still as he rose taking her hand into his. She let his strong arms support her as people come up and offered their congratulations.

Eventually the crowd dissipated and the music began. Darian twirled around his new finance'. Kanya hadn't seen her mother happier in her life then she now was at the prospect of unloading her over opinionated daughter. Her father on the other hand seemed disinterested in the conversations of the room, muttering an occasional thank you when approached with congratulations on off loading the infamous Kanya.

Kanya and Darian continued to dance through out the night. Until it was time to go back to the manor. The ride home was filled with chatter from her mother of her plans for the wedding. Kanya found she simply just wanted to be announced his wife and allowed to leave with him at her side. Her eyes still looked up dreamily to Darian from time to time, blushing slightly when he'd catch her feminine ways surfacing.

As everyone retired she said her goodnights and snuck a goodnight kiss from Darian. In her room she paced, she needed to ride. Changing her clothes she slowly tiptoed quietly down the hall and stairs and out the side of the house to the stables. Her stallion pawned the ground upon her approach. "shh" she said softly as she stroked his neck before tossing herself upon his well muscled back. With a click of her tongue and a squeeze of her thighs they were off racing down the fields and over the grounds without a care.

Eventually they circled around and made their way back to the meeting tree. Her hair was wild and tussled as her night dress clung to her thighs from the horses perspiration.

Darian sat in the meeting tree with his eyes closed, letting the moonlight wash over his face. He had already gotten out of his coat and most of the other party attire, leaving him in his boots, breeches, and tunic for he had needed the freedom from constraint. It felt like his chest was going to burst from all the events that had happened tonight. He thought about the night and smiled faintly to himself as he thought of Kanya's expression when he finally asked her the question. He had expected the reaction of her mother, the frivolous talk about unloading her daughter and making wedding plans already. However her father worried him as it seemed like he had suddenly become depressed with the announcement, even though he had known it was coming. Darian shook his head lightly, knowing what he would do. He would bring Kanya back every once in awhile to see her father or have her write him letters about her discoveries.

The dull clomp of hooves over the night ground reached his ears and Darian grinned to himself. So his fiance was restless after the night of dancing and needed to take a ride? He listened and watched from his spot in the tree, never wanting to intrude on her time of solitude but making sure she wasn't kidnapped or attacked again. Darian was more wary now of the desires of mortal men and to what lengths they would go to please those desires.

As Kanya circled back to the tree, Darian's breath caught in his throat. The light spilled over Kanya, revealing her hair tussled by the wind and her clothes sticking to her from perspiration. It was the first time he had seen her in something that more revealed her young form and he found it breathtaking. He tried mightily to push the lustful thoughts to the side and succeeded partially in making the thoughts go away.

Darian left his spot in the meeting tree to rein in her horse and help her dismount. He made sure to look in her eyes as he helped her down as he did not want to be caught staring at her wonderful body. He smiled and held her in his arms, savoring the feeling of her being close to his body, the smell of her hair filling his nose.

"Did you have a good ride my lovely Kanya?" Darian asked with a mischievous grin

Her eyes danced into his as he helped her down from her mount. Her body sliding down his as he brought her to the ground. So close to him, the physical chemistry so apparent and overwhelming. "yes" she said under her breath, then cleared her throat and repeated it "Yes My Lord" she said still a bit breathless as their bodies were pressed so close together. Their lips inches apart as the moon danced with the stars above them.

He kissed her softly and her lips and body melted against him as if there were no other reaction it could possibley have. Slowly she broke the kiss, again breathless and speachless. Slowly their bodies parted, she wasn't sure if it was her doing or if it were Darians. For there was obviously some resistance on both parts. His hand took hers as he led her back to the tree and set the fire.

She watched his form as he moved, she could see the outline of his shoulders through his shirt as he reached for a log. It was no wonder all of the girls swooned at the sight of him. He was indeed a rarity amoung men.

"So tell me" she said softly as her breath finally began to steady from her racing heart. "how was it you got them all to turn and listen, even some of which that were disinterested seemed compelled to do so. Was it a special ability of your kind? "

Darian threw the log onto the fire, stoking the embers to set it ablaze. He watched absently as the little flames licked happily at the sides of the log until it finally caught and then he turned to answer her question.

"Well it is an ability that vampires have yes, however most choose not to use it for fear of being found out. I just wanted everyone to know that you are mine to protect and love and that I am yours to love. It seemed the best way to convey that message to them." Darian shrugged as he said this last part, his eyes still dancing with mischief at what he had done tonight. He turned his green eyes to her, looking at her as the flames danced and casted shadows over both of them. The way she looked right now was stirring up thoughts in his head again and this time it was harder to dismiss them. Her tussled hair, the dress clinging to her body, her blue eyes watching him with what seemed like a hunger, all of it was causing a stir inside him that he had not felt for years.

Sighing Darian stood up from the fire, walking between it and the moon that was spilling its light over the fields. He stretched his arms above his head letting the various muscles and joints stretch out before running his fingers through his hair. Darian stared at the moon for awhile, his thoughts wandering from what he would tell his father to where he wanted to take Kanya first. Darian waited for her next question as he tried to get his body to react normally again.

She shifted slightly as a warmth crept over her body. She wasn't sure what to make of it, perhaps it was the warmth of the fire finally hitting her. "I'm afraid my father will be quite distraught when we leave." she said softly. "Although even in the past year or so he's attempted to confide in me less. He's use to being able to have me there. My mother on the other hand, i think she'll not know what to do with herself without my affairs to meddle in" she laughed lightly her eyes still looking over Darian's form as he stretched.

Kanya smiled to him. "I'm simply happier then I can ever remember being in my life" she said lightly. "There are so many places i want to see in Europe that I haven't before. I look forward to our adventures yet to come." Her fingers twisted her engagement ring on her finger. "this ring is simply exquisite Darian, where did you find it?"

Her eyes danced as she watched the fire flicker causing shadows to accentuate Darian's form. As he stepped closer to her she found herself breathless once again. The warmth only increasing in her body. It was as if it was aching for his touch. She shook her head slightly as she forced herself to look up at the moon, trying to regain her composure over the affect he was having on her.

"Well we can always come back to visit your father and mother, or you can always send him something by post I suppose. I am quite sure he will want to hear of your adventures around Europe and what you discover." Darian smiled as he spoke these words, hoping that the idea would be suitable to her thought process.

He turned to look at her and caught her eyes as she brought them towards the moon. He could sense the blood rushing through her body, could feel the warmth of it spread through her. He felt his own body react to it, a strong feeling of want creep through his veins. He tried to battle the feeling in his body but with each skirmish it grew stronger and stronger still. It was overwhelming him as he looked into the blue eyes of his fiance, her body still outlined sharply by the dress that clung to her and the wild mane of hair that framed her face.

"Umm...the ring was actually something I had made in town. I thought it would look beautiful with the necklace I had given you. I was hoping very much that you would like it." Darian uttered these words while his own body flushed with warmth. The sensation of it was catching him off guard, that was for certain. Trying to regain his composure he sat down next to her by the fire, his breath catching very slightly in his throat as he continued to glance over at her.

She listened intently as he spoke to her, almost hearing every word. "i love it" she said softly. "its the most beautiful ring i could have ever hoped for". She smiled to him and watched him move next to her. Her breath quickened as he finally sat his limbs stretching out in front of him. "Darian she whispered almost breathlessly as her hand caressed lightly over his face. Her lips then came to his as if it was the only thing that made any sense. Their tongues dancing the intimate dance stroking each others and igniting the feverish passion that was burning through her veins.

Kanya's body pressed firmly against him, the thin material they both wore allowing the heat from their bodies to only encourage their exploration of their new found passion. Her breasts and hardened nipples pinned against his chest awkwardly. She could feel his hand moving up her legs gripping her buttocks and pulling her onto his lap. His hands continued to slide up and down her thighs as she could feel his hardness straining against his pants. Her hips began to involuntarily or perhaps unconsciously moving against his. As their passionate kiss continued. Moans escaped from her lips in deepened pleasure and desire.

Something was building within her. She couldn't explain nor did she understand the burning between her thighs. The way her clit ached with such intensity and the way that rubbing against him seemed the way to solve it. This had to be wrong. They shouldn't be out here this intimite. If she continued much longer she wasn't sure she would want him to stop. She was on the edge of loosing herself to him, her purity, the only virtuous thing that she could offer him. This should be saved for the night of their marriage. But she didn't want to stop, she didn't want to loose this feeling, and loosing control. She needed to stop this, the throbbing between her thighs on her hardened nub aching with such intensity. His kisses were gentle, passionate and demanding. His hands felt so good upon her flesh, so right.

She found herself on the edge of complete loss and broke the kiss, her body pushing back from his. "This, i " she couldn't find the words to tell him what she meant. Kanya's words seemed to clumsily falter from her lips. Her chest heaving as she she tried to catch her breath, her face flushed with glowing desire from the passion they'd just exchanged. "I love you" she managed to say softly as she pulled herself from his lap and attempted to stand. She found herself wobbling, as her head swarmed from lightheadedness. Her clit screamed in agony from its lack of release. He rose with her helping her steady, embracing her. "i don't know whats wrong with me" she managed to say a bit scared and confused.

Darian felt the passion rise in his body, the heat from this feeling flowing through his veins, causing all his extremeties to tingle slightly. He kissed her hungrily and lovingly, his mouth seeking hers, his tongue dueling with hers for supremacy of the kiss. He felt her nipples pressed against his broad chest, the points feeling like they were burning into his flesh from the heat.

This feeling is overwhelming and yet I want more of it, I want to go deeper into it. Darian thought to himself as his instincts took over. He gripped her ass with his strong hands, pulling her lithe frame into his lap. His lustful feeling grew greater and greater with each kiss, each twist of her body in his lap, each caress of her hands upon his body. His hands sought any bare piece of flesh on her small form, running over her neck, shoulders and her inner thighs. He felt her sigh with contentment as his hands sought the sensitive spots on her body, caressing the smooth skin as he did.

That’s when he felt the hunger begin to rise in his body, the hunger he usually felt when he needed to feed. But somehow it was different; it didn’t feel like a need to feed on the blood that was pounding through her veins like a swollen river overflowing its banks. This hunger was for her, not the liquid of life flowing through her but for her entire person. He wanted all of her to be with him right then and in his mind nothing could stop him.

Suddenly the kisses stopped and Kanya looked at him with a confused and scared look. He was able to tell exactly what she was thinking but he could figure out the base of it, she wasn't sure what was going on with her body. To be honest he didn't know what was going on with his own but he helped her to her feet and hugged her close, not wanting to part from her warmth. He kissed her forehead lightly and tried to explain the feeling of passion that had rose within the both of them and how if they had continued they would have consumated their marriage before the actual marriage. As he said these words to her, he saw the impact strike her mind and he knew she had thought that.

"Kanya, if you promise me you will never leave my side nor will you forsake my feelings for you then I will always be happy with you. You don't have to give me anything other than your love and I shall be content...nothing else matters to me now." Darian spoke softly to her, soothing her worried look from her face until he felt he could give her a loving kiss.

Kanya listened to the words that he spoke and they made sense. This the beginning of the stages they would take upon their wedding night which would consummate their marriage. Most woman had advised what a horror it was, but Kanya was quite certain they were wrong. For if this was the beginning stages of what it would be like to explore further upon her wedding night, then she would embrace it with her whole entirety.

"I do not fear it" she said softly her head resting upon his chest. "I simply found myself not wanting it to stop, it was a feeling of loosing control, one I'm not quite often prone to do. But i do wish to wait until the night we are wed. There is very little that i can offer you that is virtuous and true Darian." she said softly. "I know you do not mind that i am considered to outspoken, perhaps a bit wild and unconventional. There are some times i wish i could bite my tongue and be deemed worthy of a man like you. But I'm afraid I'll never feel that i am. At least in this, this will be the one thing i can give to you that is pure. I know that you would wait for as long as it takes, but know that i am as eager as you to continue the way you made my body feel. I think that is best if we go back to the house though. For even now you intoxicate me."

Darian smiled softly at her and doused the firelight. Taking her hand he led her to the horse in the darkness and put her on top it. He then gracefully slid up onto the horse behind her and taking hold of its mane urged it on home to the manor. Once there he dismounted and helped her off, urging her to go inside and rest as he would brush down the stallion.

Darian was caught off guard as his beloved Kanya kissed him goodnight. The feeling of love and passion was a tangible taste left on his lips as their lips parted ways for the last time that night. He pressed his fingers to his lips as he watched her sneak back into the house. Just before her frame was completely gone from sight however, he caught the glimpse of a mischievous wink from her eye.

Smiling, Darian brushed down the horse and then returned to his own room, settling down for the night and then another long day ahead of him. As he lay there, he thought of Kanya and how she looked that night and he wondered what she dreamed about when they were apart.
