Knife play - resources for writing a scene

Hey all! So I am writing a gay BDSM couple where the Dom is a chef with a knifeplay kink. I'm introducing it for the first time in my story and I'm trying to get an idea of what real-life play knives look like? Or what a knife play scene might include between an experienced Dom and a sub who hasnt played like that before? Its not something I've had a chance to do IRL except using the tip of a prop knife.

I've found some with wooden blades and some with acrylic- do people absolutely not play with actual bladed knives? I'd like to include a real blade (he's a career chef and experienced Dom, so if anyone knows how to do it safely its this character) but if that would kill the realism I'd swap it for something else.

I’ve forged steel knives for theater and made them look sharp while being safely rounded enough to draw across flesh.

I thought about making some for kink but I haven’t got a round tuit. Depending on design it could take ~ 2-3 hours to make good one.
