Knife found buried on former property of OJ Simpson being tested by LAPD

Won't make a difference in the murder case since he's already been acquitted.

At best they can try him for manslaughter though his attorney will most likely claim all the people who handled the knife plus the degradation of any bodily fluids will make any test results unreliable.

I'm pretty sure manslaughter is a lesser included offense with murder. They could come up with a video tape of him doing the deed, and it would make no difference at this point.

After all these years, I'd love it to be the weapon used in the killings. I know they cannot retry OJ but still I think it's important to have the proof for the families.

They are already saying the knife that turned up is inconsistent with the wounds on the bodies.

You mean all those years of looking and they couldn't find it before now? IN HIS YARD!!!

True. In California voluntary manslaughter is killing in the heat of the moment such as during an argument. If this knife can somehow be traced to the killings the prosecutor could attempt to retry Simpson on those charges, but not murder.

However, there are a few, very few, exceptions when one can be tried for the same crime twice though I can't see how any of those will fit this case.

He'll probably end up in jail for evidence tampering.
He should but likely won't. The OJ case was royally fucked by sloppy criminalists and prosecutors and negligent evidence handling. Cops taking souvenirs, duh.

The 'justice' system screwed the pooch as usual. Usually, that doesn't matter -- to the gov't. If the perp was a non-OJ black man he'd have been convicted easily. But OJ had good enough (costly) lawyers to pick the shabby case apart.

Did OJ commit murder? Most likely. Does it matter now? Not really. He'll die in jail. Sayonara, motherfucker.

Unless he didn't do it.

The knife he used is in the landfill with the bloody clothes that were in that bag he stuffed in the trash can at LAX.

Even if it was the knife, the trail of evidence has been wrecked. Any half-competent defence lawyer could get the knife ruled out as having been wrongly handled.

If I remember correctly, OJ had an all-black jury, which is probably the main reason why he was acquitted.

No chain of evidence, nothing to prove that the knife they're testing is even the same one that was found at the estate a dozen years ago.

You would be wrong. 10 women, 2 men. 9 black, 1hispanic, 2 white. They acquitted him because of a lack of evidence.

in your attempt to paint the jury as racist you splattered yourself, moron.

How would the little lady feel if you called her son a moron?
Does it make you feel strong and important to pick on the weakest posters, like Yates?
Pat yourself on the back for being a bad-ass, internet tough guy.

*yawn*
Wake me up if they find an axe with Pook's prints and a sack of bloody balls.
She won't even deny it.
