We took in a stray cat two months ago. This was around the same time we adopted two of her kittens (all outdoor cats, all ignored by their owners, our horrible neighbors). It was miserably hot outside, we'd just lost two cats to old age, it seemed like the perfect swap. We were going to find a home for the momma kitty but decided to keep her.

Of course, about a month later, we realized that the svelte sleek black momma kitty was becoming rotund. Gestation is 60 days for cats, we knew it wouldn't be very much longer, and she's currently in labor right now.

Anyone want a cat?

I did not realize that solid black was a dominant trait for cats. Is that correct? I haven't researched matters, but I just assumed that Tiger stripe was more common. Hmmm.

Kitten number 3 is black (with a white chest and face). Mommy needed a bit of help to deliver but now all is well. Then we had to leave because she doesn't want us in there.

Then it would have to survive Capella (it's a boy but he got a girls name which probably accounts for a lot). Capella has two moods, hungry and vicious. When he's hungry he's sweet natured for all of the five minutes it takes to feed him. I swear the little b*****d spends his days plotting how he can attack me. He's as nice as pie with the wife, and gives me a distainful smirk whenever he curls up on her lap.

My cat Jonesey has accepted my husband. He'll even sit on his lap at times, at least until I sit down. Then he leaves him without a backward glance and cuddles up with me.
