Well Snoopy, my Parents' cat had a litter a few weeks ago. The twisted thing here, is that Snoopy decided to have her litter underneath a corner cupboard which left very little room to move.

In the meantime we found out that her litter only had two kittens, one of which died later.

Today we went and lifted the cupboard up and retrieve the poor guy.

It's a boy, we already established that and unfortunately his future isn't looking all that good.

Because of his mom's decision to give birth to him in such a confined space, it has left him with a crooked spine and twisted legs, the poor fella can't even stand on his own little feet.

We have put him inside a cat box so that while his mom can get to him, she can't take him anywhere near the cupboard anymore, we also have called the local ASPCA and they'll retrieve the poor guy tomorrow.

Well, thank you for completely bumming me out, buddy. :(

Poor little guy, indeed...

I'd take him, twisted spine and all! Alas, I'm just a wee bit far from the Netherlands. :(

Poor lil' fella. :( The ASPCA will fix him up if they can and make sure he gets a good home. Shoot, I'd take him, get him fixed up and give him a good home. He's a cutie. :D

His eyes are wide open so he is at least one week old. They are still blue so he is likely less than 3 weeks old. You only got him out yesterday so I suppose you didn't know he was there. He had room to feed, so is it possible his spinal condition was genetic rather than caused by confinement.

Logically his mum had to access the same space to have him and presumably there was room for her as well?

The mom apparently has a talent for contortionism, the people of the ASPCA were surprised that she managed to get underneath there.

They also said that the deformations of the little guy were likely caused by his mom pressing herself through that tight spot, before she gave birth to him.

Unfortunately they also said that the little guy will be put to sleep since he has no way of surviving in his condition.
:(
