Reading the USA Today poll about kissing and the differences between men and women made me curious.

Men do like to kiss. Let's get that said right off. And they like the hugs that often go with it. It's just that women really, really like kissing. Three out of four of them think the activity is more intimate than having sex, according to one Internet query of 100,000 kissers. You can't daydream or fake it while you're in one another's face, mingling breath, tastes and smells. Women would like more kisses. Better kisses. Longer-lasting kisses. Kisses that are still a priority even in a long-term marriage
But it does seem that stand-alone kissing can be a Mars-Venus thing. It's hard to get past it: For many men, kissing is getting to first base while hoping to eventually see the scoreboard light up after a home run. "One of the major differences between men and women is that women like kissing more and find it more intimate than intercourse." "I wouldn't say guys don't find kissing intimate. But they look on kissing as a step to something else."

Do you agree? I have had friends who told me that their SOs won't kiss them or just make a perfunctory attempt. I find that hard to believe. Maybe it's the whole sex vs. romance discrepancy. I am not sure. I just can't imagine having any kind of physical relationship without kissing. Whether as a preamble to the main event or during, after or as a stand alone event. Do you like to kiss?
What do you think? Men? Ladies?
