Finally! I've been waiting for this all of my life!

But why they gotta get mean about it by bashing Rihanna for doing what just about every other act has been doing for well over a decade?

"We're sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them," KISS' Gene Simmons said on Tuesday afternoon as KISS and Motley Crue announced their first joint tour in three decades. "The guys you see on stage are playing their instruments. No fake bullshit. Leave that to the Rihanna, Shmianna and anyone who ends their name with an 'A.'"

Well, fine. Gene Simmons was busy with his scripted family reality show, wasn't he? Plus he bashed Adam Lambert for coming out about his sexuality too soon because that was just horrible, horrible, horrible self-marketing.

Now he bashes Rihanna? For half-singing during intense concert tours when after 2.5 hours of performing, backup "karaoke" stuff isn't better than ruining her voice when she's also running around dancing nonstop doing like 5 shows a week?

Say what? Mr. Gene Simmons, we've all heard you sing. Don't act like that shit is to be preserved any time soon.

And Tommy Lee?

"No disrespect to Rihanna, she's a great singer, but we're in a slump for some shit that has some personality and appeal beyond a bunch of pop stuff that's floating around out there," he told Billboard.com. "I'm glad he said that actually because I don't think i can bear watching another f***ing award show that is just a little bit better than 'American Idol.' It's f***ing pathetic to watch people go out and f***ing karaoke with a bunch of lights and video. It's all completely watered down."

Pffft, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl growls about the way music has changed but he's never really pinpointed others making record albums and winning Grammys.

Just garner ticket sales to your awesome tour without griping about the present state of music, you old farts. /rant over

Gene is right. Check out Madonna's flat Super Bowl show. Sound? Perfect. Mix? Just like the CD. Talent? The sound was perfect!

I am old school. I like to hear the music that come from the live stage. Not music mixed in perfect 7.1 Dolby in a billion dollar studio.

Bring back the live bands. Just go easy on them when it sounds a little flat.

Real music is great.

Too bad neither of those shit bands make music worth a damn listening to.

Because they are touring together I am updating my 2012 death pool.

I'll take Nikki Sixx OD'ing on smack.
Tommy Lee will finally choke on the silicon on a fake pair of tits.
Vince Neil will finally realize he's an ugly smug ass fuck and drop dead.

And Terry Gross will kill Gene Simmons for being one of the biggest piece of shit interviews of her entire broadcasting career.

One upside, well another upside, of illegal down loading is that bands have to drag their asses out and tour to make a buck.

I took my daughter to a Motley Crue concert a few years ago and it truly sucked.

Probably because Motley Crue sucks; they always did. They're mildly amusing and have a handful of tunes worth listening to, but mostly they are just dumb, which is amplified live.

If Tommy Lee hadn't married Pamela Anderson, they would have disappeared ages ago.

In fact, the only entertaining part of the show was a half hour solo set by Tommy Lee, in which he played material from his then new solo album, Tommyland (?).

KISS aren't much better, except their work ethic ( Simmons and Stanley's work ethic) is worthy of note and they have a slate of genuinely pleasant rock songs to fill a bill with.

I measure all acts against Alice Cooper and The Rolling Stones.

Of all the rock acts I've seen, you won't find many who work harder than Alice Cooper to put on a good rock show...and I like the fact that he doesn't swear.

(revving up a crowd by saying "fuck" a few hundred times over a PA system is hardly talented or praise-worthy)

And regardless of whether you like their material or not, it's pretty hard to beat a Stones show for entertainment.

I do understand why people like the Crue...and I do find them funny/amusing...but not because of their musical ability.

Because a bunch of otherwise forgettable musicians who got famous for playing cookie cutter boogie woogie while dressing like circus freaks is where I turn to for opinions about professionalism and artistic integrity.

:)

Well, now that you put it that way, maybe Lady Gaga and her phony microphone are not so bad.
