My first thoughts have centered around wearing a school-girlish plaid kilt with the typical white shirt and my hair in braids--you know the look. I am sure I can do that one (and any comments can be very effectively dealt with my very very well practiced icy-stare).

Practical suggestions only please--i do have a real life and a real life bank account (it is not overflowing). I am not willing to do the overcoat with nothing on underneath scenario--the total airport/flight time is long and BO is not my idea of sexy. The title of a thread starting post can't be edited. (Laurel may be able to, but probably not. There are far too many typos for her to correct even if she could.)

To change your location, go to the story index page and follow the link in the top right corner for "login" and click on edit profile when you get to your member's profile.

There are TWO member's profile pages. The one accessed through the BB will not update the location, the one access through the story index page does.

Do You have cookies enabled?

Without cookies enabled, you cannot login through the story index page, it keeps sending you back to the login page.

That may be what is keeping you from editing your posts also. I've never had any problems editing a post, so I don't have any direc experience with your problem. You expressly complained about the thread title, which cannot be edited by anyone, which led me to misunderstand your complaint.

You can enable cookies for just this site by putting it in your "trusted sites" zone under the security tab in Tools/Internet options. (IE5)

Ah ha! I found it--I could not figure out what the "story index page" was. I found nada telling me the word INDEX or any synonym for that--only the listing page for the story CATEGORIES and news titles and links to all over the site and the free vid of the day, etc.......
Is there a more descriptive title than "story index" ? That would be helpful.

ALSO--if this information and possibly a direct link were put in the FAQs, this would probably make the site more user friendly. Really, it is not like I have not tried on my own to find the information. What a headache!

Anyway--thank you to those of you who let me know that there was a completely separate profile section (why, I must wonder) that is independant from the boards. Now, I am puzzled by the contents of that... Hhhmmm... more things to fiddle with.

That's exactly how it acts when cookies are disabled on most pages I go to that require cookies. However, I don't get asked to log in when I click on the edit icon at the bottom of one of my posts. It just takes me to a form very much like the one for a new post or reply. It won't let me save the edit unless the name and password match the original poster, but I don't have to log in to get to the editing form.

I refer to that page as the "Story Index" because that's the label on the link at the bottom of each BB page. The link underneath it is to ~~literotica.com/stories/index.php Which pretty much means the same thing. I never bother to look at the title at the top of the page when I'm there -- I haven't a clue what the page title really is. <G>

One other thing you can check. Go to http://www.literotica.com/forum/index.php (the main page of the BB.)

At the very bottom of the page, there is either a link to "logout", or name and password fields next to a login button. Once you've logged in there, You should see a greeting with the currrent time and time you last logged on and your handle. It's probably going to be the same log in page you're seeing when you try to edit, but once you log in there, the cookie for this site is set and you shouldn't see it again when you try to edit.
