I've recently heard of "Kink" (produced by James Franco, directed by Christina Voros), a documentary on kink.com. Has anyone here watched it? What's your impressions? Worth the time and money?

I believe this falls under the category of spam.

Just click report instead of whining about it. Are you the multi-forum moderator now?

I guess maybe I should just be lazy and indolent like you and just snitch on them instead? Would that meet with your approval?

No, let me explain it for your s-l-o-w-l-y so you can understand better. I don't look at noobs as the wretched underclass that must be put up with. I don't think they should be ground down under your heel so that they feel less than shit. I don't expect them to know everything in the first post they make and generally allow that they make mistakes.
I tend to be subjective and look at how spam is advertised and if someone seems like they are real and not advertising but asking a legitimate question about something then I try to EDUCATE instead of vilify.

Why don't you try it sometime.

Spamming was definitely not my intention. I wanted opinions and thought there's no better place to ask.

I removed the link to the website (but kept its name).

I don't think this thread promotes the site or movie. If opinions are negative it will do the opposite. Don't you agree that this can be an interesting thread?

I'm not clear on what documentary you're talking about. Kink.com has a link for documentaries - basically old articles and bloopers.

Are you by any chance talking about the James Franco documentary?

You mean pass your own judgment

yes, I do and I know that pisses you right off.

be the forum police

I never made that claim nor think it, but I can understand how a person like you interprets and judges like that.

while telling others not to? Gotcha. :)

When have I said this? I don't recall correcting someone; not to state forum rules.

I was on post 3000 or so when you decided to start admonishing me for what you thought was a violation of the rules.

If you wish to bring up and hash out old issues, then I would suggest you to talk about them in that appropriate thread, otherwise...
However, based on your form of logic and plan of attack, I deduce one thing, your gripe from the get-go, doesn't have anything to do with this thread, what the OP did, or anything except focusing on me. That implies you are stalking the forum looking for a chance to pick a fight with what I say or do. It also conveys that you hold a malevolence towards me.

Do you REALLY want to play that gambit?

For some reason you think your interpretation is the correct one.

EVERYONE does you ninny! Just as YOU judge that YOUR interpretation that mine is WRONG. However, that I have different interpretations doesn't bother you (or maybe it does?), that I VOICE those interpretations DOES bother you and in that regard, I have no regrets.

Wouldn't objective be a much better goal?

Objective would be following the letter of the rules in a cold, calculating way. Subjective allows for experience and interpretation. There are times when I am objective and times when I am subjective. Sometimes I am easy on people I don't like, and sometimes I am hard on people I do.
Categorically, no. Being objective isn't a better goal.

However, considering that the OP has expressed that they didn't intend to spam, I believe this reinforces that my interpretation was correct which means my saying something was a "friendly" heads up while your (implied) action is not.

****

To the OP
I think your removing the link doesn't make it less spammish. I suggest either using a director by way of reference to indicate the movie, or, I believe there is a "movie" thread around here...someplace. I can't recall or find where it is after a quick search.

As you can tell from drinkz comment, some people here have zero tolerance for mistakes and would rather head hunt you and eventually try to get you banned for breaking rules, even if that wasn't your intent.

I saw the documentary on a doc film festival last year. I think it was ok, but it didn't leave any lasting memories or impressions, seeing as I don't remember much anything about it. Apparently James Franco was the executive producer.

For those interested, there's a documentary about Insex, too. It's called Graphic Sexual Horror and I seem to remember just as little about it as I do about the Kink documentary.

Yes, Franco's documentary

Yes, Franco's documentary. I've edited the post to clarify it, thanks.

I've been wanting to see it for ages, since it played at Sundance the other year. I haven't because there was no chance I was going to be able to attend Sundance or any other film festival to watch it, and it still hasn't been officially released yet, so there's no access to it for anyone not in the industry. I read something about it perhaps being accepted by someone to release it this year, so if that's true we'll get a chance to reply back to this thread properly.

(For people who haven't heard anything about it, it's a documentary produced by James Franco about the BDSM pornography company Kink.com)
