Belit

Belit is a female pirate captain that shows up in a Conan novel.

There is a reference to her for anyone who is curious. And a description right out of the book.

She was slender, yet formed like a goddess: at once lithe and voluptuous. Her only garment was a broad silken girdle. Her white ivory limbs and the ivory globes of her breasts drove a beat of fierce passion through the Cimmerian's pulse, even in the panting fury of battle. Her rich black hair, black as the Stygian night, fell in rippling burnished clusters down her supple back. Her dark eyes burned on the Cimmerian.

If you like and want her in your group let me know.

Name: Arthur Pendragon
Title: High King of Britain
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Blue
Weapon: Excalibur

King Arthur of Camelot. Merlin, Lancelot, Guinivere, etc. The consumnate King, and warrior. Hero out of Legend. According to legend, at the moment of death he was taken by the Wyrd Sisters to Avalon, where he would sleep until he was needed again. At a great time of need, he would come again to reclaim Excalibur, and give birth to a Golden Age.

OOC: Corny isn't it? I've always wanted to play King Arthur.

Actually I was hoping somone would play Aurther. We need more people. See if you can help me get some more to play.

Character: Conan

Surely Conan needs no introduction, however for prose's sake.....

Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the Suns of Arias, there came the Hyborean Age......

Onto this, Conan, the Cimmerean, destined to wear the jeweled Crown of Aqualonia upon a troubled brow...

Wherein time, he vanquished the snakes of the earth, and they were trodden under his feet, and his beloved Valeria was killed, and yet he became king by his own hand.....

But that is another story.

Conan, of course, is equipped with his famous broadsword. He is known for his strength, as well as his temper.

May I play?

I am going to stay with my grandfather in a hospital I will not be posting for about four day when i come back I plan to start the thread

Okay, Jerahmeel's going to be gone for a few days, in the meantime, we still need more players. If anybody wants to join, post your profiles here, I'll comment on them for you, but final acceptance is up to Jerahmeel. You have the next couple days to post your character, and then he'll return and start the thread.

As for my character...
Merlin's Profile.

Name: Myrddin Emrys (Latinized to Merlin Ambrosius)
Age: Indeterminate
Race: Demi-human (mother was the Royal Princess of Dyfed, daughter of King Meurig ap Maredydd ap Rhain, and his father was a daimon (Demon)
Appearance: An old man, surprisingly spry, with a flowing white beard, wears a lengthy robe with a hood about his head.
History: (OK, this is going to be kinda lengthy, I'm trying to remember this stuff from when I was in school, and its been awhile, so I'll be using a lot of direct quotes from my old notes without annotating them)

Merlin was magician, prophet and advisor, active in all phases of the administration of King Arthur's kingdom, during the early 10th
century. He was given the name Emrys (or Ambrosius) at his birth in Caer-Fyrddin (Carmarthen).
Merlin was the illegitimate son of a monastic Royal Princess of Dyfed. The lady's father was King Meurig ap Maredydd ap Rhain, a sub-King of the region bordering on Ceredigion. Merlin's father was an incubus, an evil spirit that has intercourse with sleeping women. The evil child was supposed to provide a counterweight to the good influence of Jesus Christ on earth. Merlin, fortunately, was baptized early on in his life, an event which negated the evil in his nature, but left his powers intact.
After the Roman withdrawal from Britain and the usurpation of the throne from the rightful heirs, King Vortigern was in flight from the Saxon breakout and went to Snowdonia, in Wales, in hopes of constructing a mountain fortress at Dinas Emrys where he might be safe. Unfortunately, the building kept collapsing and Vortigern's house wizards told him that a human sacrifice of a fatherless child would solve the problem. One small difficulty was that such children are rather hard to find. Fortunately for Vortigern's fortress, Merlin was known to have no human father and happened to be available.
Before the sacrifice could take place, Merlin used his great visionary powers and attributed the structural problem to a subterranean pool in which lived a red and a white dragon. The meaning was clear. Merlin prophesied that Vortigern would be slain and followed on the throne by Ambrosius
Aurelianus, then Uther, then a greater leader, Arthur. It would fall to him to push the Saxons back.
True to the prophecy, Vortigern was slain and Ambrosius took the throne. Later, Merlin appears to have inherited his grandfather's little
kingdom, but abandoned his lands in favour of a more mysterious life. After 460 British nobles were massacred at a peace conference, as a result of Saxon trickery, Ambrosius consulted Merlin about erecting a suitable memorial to them. Merlin, along with Uther, led an expedition to Ireland to procure the stones of the Chorea Gigantum, the Giant's Ring.
Merlin, by the use of his extraordinary powers, brought the stones back to a site, just west of Amesbury, and re-erected them around the mass grave of the British nobles. It became known as Stonehenge.
After his death, Ambrosius was succeeded by his brother, Uther, who, during his pursuit of Gorlois and his irresistable wife, Ygerna (Igraine), back to their lands in Cornwall, was aided by Merlin. As a result of a deception made possible by Merlin's powers, Uther was transformed into the image of Gorlois. He entered their castle, managed to fool Ygraine into thinking he was her husband, had his way with her and conceived a child, Arthur. Gorlois, knowing nothing of such events, went out to meet Uther in combat, but instead, was slain by Uther's troops.
After Arthur's birth, Merlin became the young boy's tutor, while he grew up with his foster-father, Sir Ector (Cynyr Ceinfarfog). In the defining moment of Arthur's career, Merlin arranged for the sword-in-the-stone contest by which the lad became king. Later, the magician met the mystic Lady of the Lake (Vivienne, revealed later to be also Morgan La Fay) at the Fountain of Barenton (in Brittany) and persuaded her to present the King with the magical sword, Caledfwlch (Excalibur). Merlin was also closely involved in aiding and directing the events of the king and kingdom of Camelot. He, at the end of Arthur's life, accompanied the wounded Arthur to the Isle of Avalon (Ynisvitrin) for the healing of his wounds. He was aided by Morgan La Fay in this, who, together with her sisters, Elaine and Morgause, comprised the three Wyrde sisters of Ynisvitrin (Avalon). Morgan (Morrighan) was also known as Argante, or Titania, Elven Lady of Avalon.
Merlin still waits, on Avalon, for the day when he is needed again, together with the lord and lady of that place, Oberon and Titania, for the day when his services shall be required again.

I am not going to start until we get atleast five people and that is not couting Merlin. So if you can help me get some more people we can start this thanks

OOC: OK people, this is a great idea so someone sign on! Think about it, you could be ANYONE from real history (Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, William the Conqueror, Ghengis Khan, Joan of Arc) or even some people who aren't known to be real or fictional (Robin Hood, Sir Lancelot) or you can just make someone up! Give it a shot.
