KINESICS AND CONTEXT by Ray Birdwhistlle (his real name) is a book I read 50 years ago. Its a scientific look at movement and what movement means. I bought it back then thinking it decoded body language, it does, but without any nifty tit for tat revelations. Its not a Space Ranger Secret Decoder Manual. It explains where on the body particular emotions are expressed, not what they mean.

The first principle is: behavior must be obvious or it attracts immediate suspicion and scrutiny. I always say, IF SHE WANTS YOU SHE'LL COME GET YOU. If you feel confused look elsewhere for luv. Another consideration is, beyond apparent deceit is crazy. If what you express deviates too far from the norm, you conclude its crazy.

I read chapters 1 and 2. Theyre packed with info tho little of its useful for composition. Like.....listeners err 20% of what they hear. Trained listeners err 4%. Words outside of context are generally meaningless tho there are exceptions: "4" "for" "four" "Fore!" the golf alert is okay alone, but the others mean little alone.

This might be useful if you want to master words and actions, but its the start, not the end of the learning.

Vedanta scholars say... ...that words are of four divisions of reality or consist of four dimensions of reality; of humans, they know only the fourth division of these, the outward expression or sound.

Body language books are useful to decipher deceit; psychosis, stupid, and clear/direct speak for themselves.
