I think, and have thought for some time, that there are probably reasons why we are less tolerant or concerned about one group or type of people--as opposed to others.
As an example, I have a very low opinion of people who smoke pot. I just do, in general. If I were pressed, I'd probably say that was because a lot of friends I had years ago were pot-heads (I, myself, was a druggie for a long time) and it destroyed their life--it was a grand distraction that left them behind others in the race that is life. A couple got arrested. Several just didn't care about much else.
I'm sure there are groups of people we don't care for. General consensus on the boards here is that Christians are either idiots, criminals, or devious manipulaters... I can only imagine the reasons, and the real ones, for such beliefs. I tend to think they're due to being a young outcast and identifying socially accepted or honored groups (which one failed or had a hard time being a part of) as the enemy--expanding that out to an attempt to be better than the other group through assumed moral or intellectual superiority. Feels good, then, to demonize what we feel keeps or kept us down.
Sports, blondes, the fit, the pretty, the sorority, the wealthy, etc., etc., etc.
But, that's a lot of supposition.
I am curious as to what kind of people some of you just don't care for and the honest reasons (or maybe just theories) as to why. Or, conversely, why we think others have biases against one group or another.
