So what do you do? While waiting for that little word 'pending' to change to 'approved'?

Are you a pot-watcher (the type that never boils) or do you simply forget about the impending exposure of your latest creation and go watch telly? For 4 days. Or so.

What do you do to kill the time between posts (other than WRITE of course...couldn't do anything productive like that, could we)...

I go on to work on something else. What I'm posting here now I've written more than three months ago, so that takes the edge off the anticipation. Also, it has almost universally taken the same number of days for mine to post for years, so I don't think about the wait unless it doesn't appear when expected.

I suppose this just pegs me as the newbie that I am ;)

Do you get other feedback elsewhere before sharing with Lit? I haven't quite built up a core of folks mad enough to give me their honest opinion pre-posting...

I like to bake different sorts of breads mostly.

Muffins are a close second.

Christmas time is when I do all the fancy cookies and cakes.

Then I play outside to burn it all off. ^_____^

Sometimes, I'll have the time for writing after all that. >.>

I'm just used to the 3 or so days it takes to post, and so I just move on to other things. You'll see -- the novelty of checking will wear off. ;)

Oo - homemade bread! Nothing quite like it :) And I have agree...things get a bit mad at Christmas because people will actually eat the stuff I bake when they relent from their diets for a while!

Well, knowing that's the case I shall instead try enjoy the thrill of anticipation while it lasts!

But I suppose it's also a lot to do with your own personal journey as a writer? There's the initial rush from finding out people don't hate your first attempts, then the realisation that you actually know nothing about 'real' writing, and then it's on to the rest of your life in which you battle the usual demons and actually start to writing something approaching all right.

Lots to look forward to...!

I check on the third day to see what it is doing. Sometimes it's up but here and there no. Sometimes the pending will "block out" the day before and you know it's going up the next day, but other times it just goes up.

I agree. Read. Write. Edit. It'll post when it posts, and not one second sooner.
