Yes! Con Air.
Fantastic movie, adrenalin inducing and great pace. And the director managed to get the best out of him.

One of the books that I liked was Leaving Las Vegas.
I couldn't get myself to watch the movie, tho.
I could just picture Nicholas Cage's whiny discourses and whiny long faces, trying to substitute for brooding and raw existential despair.
And as for Elizabeth Shue - some say she's a good actress, but I found her to lack the IT factor and be lackluster.
 
At a reported height of 5'8", he would be three inches taller than another guy who never had a leading role --- James Cagney at 5'5".

I remember it being super depressing! Shue was very lovely but no great actress really.

The starring male role in Wild Orchid and 9-1/2 months- maybe sleazy, but sexy: not.

I absolutely dispise Nicolas Cage. He was brilliant in Leaving Las Vegas. He either really did his homework, knew first hand, or just got lucky. Either way, he played a desperate alcoholic very very well. However, he did throw in a few things I hate about him, overall tho, great performance. I'd burn the rest of his work.

Whatever the boxing didn't mess up, the plastic surgery more than made up for.
 
Only the most ardent fan is aware of Kiefer's oh-so-brief role as the German sniper who kills Vin Diesel in Saving Private Ryan.
You'll have to put the credits on slo-mo because the make-up will never give a hint that it's really Sutherland.

Incorrect

Con Air was a horrible movie. First of all as someone whose native tongue is Southern that is the worst southern accent ever portrayed on film. It's worse than when Russell Crowe tries to speak American.

Also there is absolutely no excusing dropping a very nice 1967 Corvette Roadster to its untimely demise.

I was out in the East Mesa early one morning and I actually met a Conair pilot. He flies Conair for ice. If you are a criminal facing deportation you get Shackled dragged onto the airplane and deported to your home country. Some of which are very likely to execute you when you get off the plane. The people he's transporting very much do not want to go.
