He's kidnapped and escapes, then goes back to Syria again.

kidnapped twice or three times now? twice in 2012 and now again. i think he's quite aware of the risks - is it possible he went back understanding they might take him and use him as a conduit for their messages? perhaps he wants the inside story as a journalist... it would certainly seal his rep as a war journalist, plus (should he survive) we're talking book/film.... of course, this may be nothing of the sort and he just took another chance and was unlucky. again.

depends on if he's working with them, albeit in his own interests, or even with another agency to gain inside information, i guess. i just hope he's not another they choose to behead once his usefulness to them has expired.

shame about that, but read it when you get the chance. to not put too fine a point on it, it's one of the few books that have really made me look at the world in a new light.
