I don't come here as often as I once did.

(Hello newbies. I've been hanging around here for a while and like to think I have a clue about some of this "kinky stuff" y'all talk about here. If any of you are male, hetero, employed, English-speaking, deoderant-and-toothbrush-using, single, looking for a woman to spoil, and sane--please e-mail me ASAP. Oh-wait. Sorry--starting to sound like a personals ad isn't it. Okay, okay--back to topic...)

My interractions here recenly have mostly been to check in here and there and just watch the goings-on. I must admit that the exodus from Lit dismays me. It reminds me of the "popular" crowd in gradeschool who would separate themselves from the group so that they could go do their thing but would still stay involved enough with the rest of the regular kids to keep up on their gossip.

I suppose I will be told that I have the wrong impression...but from what I have seen--this is the impression that has formed. I have been invited into this clique and those invitations bother me. There is nothing rude or snotty or anything like that. It just seems to me that the older birds abandoned the nest because of the presence of the babies and the infestation of bugs. (The bugs, of course, could either be eaten by the birds or ignored.... Did the momma and daddy birds forget that the babies and the bugs are normal things to see in a nest?)

As I have been viewing this, I can't help but think of KidRock and his feminine alterego. Their display of the "I don't wanna play with you anymore but I am still gonna hang around and remind you how much you will miss me when I am really gone" attitude.

It saddens me to see those who provided so much of the "meat" in the beginnings of this forum here doing this. Especially after so short a time. Can anybody refresh my memory as to how long since the BDSM board was established here? Has this really been here long enough for such drama queen displays and intentional divisions to be set up? Are the "community leaders" who have sheperded the pack really so hung up on their own power that divisions simply were unavoidable? (I am expecting some response that states there was no division caused here. That what I am referring to is simply another club that I am welcome to join, where we can all sit around the campfire and sing KumBahYa together as we hold hands and share the love. )

I just don't understand.

(Forgive me if this has been hashed and rehashed already. If so, please just post me to the thread links I missed and this thread can die a quick death,)

Well I was just gonna skip this thread, but then I didn't see many people answering it. I'll try to give ya the quick and dirty. Just keep in mind that this is from one of the "bugs" as you put it.

A group of people here no longer felt they could stay because they didn't enjoy themselves anymore. Fights and arguments were breaking out daily. They felt the few people that were causing the problem were not going to leave or give them relief, so they wanted to start over in another place. I think that's the main jist of it.

I've used Lit on and off for years and I don't see anyone here I remember from reading the site in 99-00, my most recent foray.

People leave and join daily for a variety of reasons.

I find it amusing when people "announce" their exit and blame others for their leaving.

If some desire their own members-only website elsewhere, that is their right and perogative.

To attach blame for their decision on the words of others is a cheap slanderous lie.

And is indicative of nothing more than their lack of character.

That's my view.

I would prefer that we would all be "happy together" as the old song says... but it is not going to happen in this lifetime....

In a nutshell, a lot of the newer people here felt that the old time mother board people were exclusionary. There was a big fight and the MBP set up an exclusionary site. Now, there is, I guess, peace in both places. New people are showing up here all the time. It's time to let the past go.

How do you mean private? I went to kinktalk.com, registered, got a activation e-mail and Bob's yer uncle. I was not invited to join just dropped by to see what all the hubbub was about and couldn't just wander through so I had to join.
