I would like some help understanding how the Literotica website works regarding some of the functionality.

key words - I have included key words simply because a space existed for them. I thought maybe they were used by the moderator to get a quick overview. Now I'm wondering what the true intent is and how they are utilized? Are they for a search function?

edits for repost - what are your opinions on doing this? I have some thoughts about editing one of my stories but is that the right thing to do? After all, I submitted it beause I was satisfied with it. Unlike real life, however, I can "change the past", but I wonder what others have felt after changing a previously posted story.

virgin - I posted a comment on a differnt thread a while ago. when it popped up on the thread itself, the caption beneath my name stated "virgin". Obviously this refers to never having posted before, but I am curious what the criteria is for virginity? (No Clintonesque hair splitting allowed!)

Keywords are what the search engine looks through to find stories that match the user's criterion in the "Search Stories" area. So if a user is looking for a story with, say, submission in it, they type submission in the search engine and it looks for all the key words with submission in them. You get five to describe your story. I'm a failure at this one, I just type in sex.

Reposting because you're not happy with it? My personal take on a repost is to edit only for errors and only when there are many. Why? You're never going to be satisfied with the story. That's the writer's way. One editor with a large publishing house in New York who has had at least 15 best seller authors cross her desk has this word of advice to all writers: When you have submitted your work, immediately begin a new one. Before you've been notified that it's been accepted, before you've gotten word on anything. It'll save your sanity. I have no idea what management thinks about reposting.

Virgin: You'll lose it a 30 posts and so on. You see the nice phrase under my name and the chick with the gun? At 100 posts you can put in an avatar (see user cp up at the top) and at 1000 posts you can put in your own title (see user cp up at the top). Better?

thanks!

Killer,
Thanks for the response. It clarified a few things for me, particularly regarding the edit dilemna. I have decided not to do anything with it, just let it stand as is. Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks!
