We seriously need immigration reform and a reassessment of the entire processes. It feels like we continue to just ignore the problem and put a bandaid on a gaping wound

They tried to include it in other bills, but failed.

I don't think either party has a plan to address the core issues...we need refugee trials to be handled differently. We need minors to be handled differently. We need an actual agreement, outside of trade deals, which will directly address failures by other countries in addressing surges of refugees (and I don't mean punishment necessarily..there could be other mechanisms deployed)
