Because I'm sure that all the covert intelligence operatives I know (and I know maybe two or six or seven) would hardly even be able to demonstrate ACTUAL LEGITIMATE ID to genuine investigative minds all that quickly, far less have their official originators verify anything TO A NEWSPAPER!!!

Any person who starts his literotica post claiming to know up to 7 covert intelligence agents is full of bull shit.
If it were true you just wouldn't be saying it.
The level of clearance required to give you access to that level of intelligence, i.e. Knowing the identity of spies, means that someone who would blurt the claim that they know 7 of them would never get the clearance.
