Keith Emerson RIP

So I suppose the show does end, after all.

Noor, I got a text about his passing this afternoon, and you were the first person I thought of.

The show doesn't end, the players merely change.

My first thought was of Byron and how upset he would have been. Our mutual love for ELP and Yes was part of what bonded us early on.

ELP is what inspired Byron to become a progressive rock musician, with his background in classical piano.

I remember my dad going through an ELP album with me, pulling out his classical LPs and playing me every piece they used.

Edit: Boy Lucky is always in my heavy rotation. What a shame.

Also: a cjh sighting

Where have you been?
Don't answer that.
Let me just bask.

Wow and how sad...

"The death of keyboardist Keith Emerson is currently being investigated as a suicide, the Santa Monica Police confirmed to Billboard.

According to the police, Emerson suffered a single gunshot wound to the head, but the keyboardist's cause of death is still being investigated."

I believe he'd been in poor health recently.

I believe he'd been in poor health recently.

I know he was doing an Indiegogo campaign to finish the documentary adaptation of his book "Pictures of an Exhibitionist." I wondered why.

Can you actually do that? I only know a few people that can/could :rose:
Play quite deliberately, no problem.

Some of Satie's keyboard works take centuries to complete.

Be very patient. Eat tranqs. One note, then another note, and another, and...

Those are both lovely and heartwarming stories. Thank you for sharing.
