Steve and Phil are enjoying an after Friday brew at the local bar before heading home for the weekend. Just two or three to loosen up after a hectic week. They have been friends for years and co-workers for about 10 years. The engineering firm they work for couldn't do without them and they knew it.

While working and living next door to one another, they never tired of the company of each other. And as guys do, the conversation stays light and with things they may never say to their spouses. And unless extremely close, possibly not to just any other guy.

Steve is married to Jill; a still in college ceremony, but they managed to pull through the challenges. No children yet and it looked like it wasn't going to happen. Jill has a full time job as a graphic designer and often works from home.

Phil is also married, to Samantha, a few less years than Steve/Jill have been. Samantha teaches school at the 2nd grade level in a private school.

All in their mid thirties and comfortably well off with dual incomes. Work for all of them drives their lives with little outside diversions.

Phil calls, "Another round please, barkeep, it's been a rough week."

"Are you sure we , should? The wives will be looking for us," mentioned Steve.

Phil chuckled, "Sometimes you have to keep them guessing, Steve."

Steve pondered that and before he realized it he said, "Jill, is doing that for sure lately. Seems she never wants to fool around anymore."

Phil almost spit his final swallow of the mug out as the new ones arrived. He started to get nervous and forced himself to calm down.

"What do you mean? You both are work addicted as we are. You're just imagining things Steve."

"No...it's as if she has other interests," Steve replied.

And Phil thought about his and Jills' recent meetings. And all behind Steve's and Samantha's backs.....
