Keepers of Heart (Second Coming/Casting)

There once was a time where all dragons had keepers for their heart. This prevented warlords of their time from sneaking into their lairs and stealing them away while they slept...

Dragons have survived through the years walking among the humans as none other than humans themselves. However as the centuries pass them by, they die out one by one, until only a few live in our current day and time. They all search for the one keeper that holds their heart and power. These are the women that hold their heart and commands a small portion of their power as well. With their keeper they also find their soulmate the one person who can bring them to their knees.

However, the keepers are also sharing the same fate as their dragon counterparts. With no claim to their heart, the keepers have been hunted and devoured. The heart they held stolen away by a mysterious force that is still to this day unexplainable. Only a select few keepers remain and with no knowledge of who they truly are and what powers they hold... more are threatened daily as their dragon saviors work diligently to find them and protect them from the Rogue and his hunters.


Following the events of a battle fought two years prior to today, a young girl by the name of Gia had learned of her role as Keeper to an equally generous dragon named Cole. However, due various attacks, events unfolded causing a massive wave of energy that took from the young Gia her memories of her beloved along with it the life of her friends. With the City of Promise demolished from the ensuing shockwave, Gia found herself awaken in the new City of Tranquility.

In this town is where our story begins anew.... as more dragons have awaken in search of their true hearts.

Name: Cole Drake
Age: Incredibly Old, stopped counting a long time ago.
Height: 6'0
Weight: 200
Dragon: Black dragon
Eyes: Light, steely blue.
Hair: Black, falls in his face a bit too often

Cole has been alive for an incredibly long time, outliving most of his friends who had not been able to survive in the new world. This occassionally leads him to be somewhat isolated and stand-offish.

He has seen many battles and it shows, while he is not overly muscular, he looks like if he got into a fight, he would walk away quite easily.

Preferring to blend in with a crowd, Cole does not wear anything outrageous, instead wearing darker button-up shirts with his brown knee-length coat.

While he does have a tendency to avoid people, he is not completely devoid of a sense of humor. He uses his stand-offish nature to weed out people not worthy of talking to, but when he does find someone with whom he connects, he can be a good man deep down.

After finding Gia, he thought that eternal happiness would follow, and that he would be with her for all days. Certain forces worked against them, and that did not happen as it should. Now, he was out in the world, once again hunting down the love of his life, trying to get back to her at whatever the cost.

Eyes: Black. The pupils completely eat the irises on a white field. He wears sunglasses to counter this effect and contacts otherwise.
Hair: Silver. And in the standard Cyber Punk Style. With far too much care resulting something that looks like spiked bed head.

Coin looks like a an average grifter. And plays that way. He's tall and thin but happy. Always with a smile and quick retort. He doesn't start fights. Nor is he the one to finish each one. He'll run to save himself if need be.

He has long limbs and a lanky look. His hair compliments his tanned skin very well. But he dyes it that color. He has Muslce on him and a fair deal, but isn't a fighter. He is a gambler and Card shark. Also a grifter and routinely suckers people out of their money. He has the heart of a black dragon but of course knows nothng of it.

He is partial to slacks and Sleeveless open vests, To show off his well defined abs. He wears Fingerless gloves Slighly loose to palm small objects still.

Coin is very old. VERY VERY VERY OLD. The dragon whose heart he bears is Styphon the Black (Yes from ancient myth. The first black.) He knows nothing of this. As such he hustles because he is a con artist and greedy. Also he will forget periodically. Unable to understand or contain what he learns, Coin will just not remember things.

He wants a hoard. Coin will have several troves, But will not remember any of them. So Yep money, can't use it.

He'll have some strange tricks. Even without gloves or sleeves he'll be able to palm cards. Possibly in some other space. Just make it appear. It only works with things smaller than his hands though. And he doesn't understand it either.

Coin is very hard to hurt. Like any truly old or ancient beast he is almost impossible to damage. But he's a coward, And he won't really notice. He'll feign it. A benefit to be sure but not when you don't know it.

Minor cantrips. This will include feats of Juggling. Sleight of hand. Trick shots. (Just don't play pool with him.) And Little taps or pushes or pulls. All seeming to be an innocuous breeze. A thump on the ground. An over stretched hand.

Minorly and flavor wise.
Mostly as a nod to D&D with Black dragons spell like abilities.
Coin cannot get drunk.
Nor can he drown. He breathes water as easily as air, But does need to breathe. I.E. choking him would knock him out.
He can spoil water. Or any drink. Instantly making it stagnant and undrinkable.
Lastly he can make alcohol from water. Not a specific one. But he can make water into Ethanol/Methanol, and plain old Alcohol.

Since Gaining a heart from the Old thread.

Coin remembers some of who he was, and can fly. He has gained the Iconic Acid breath but does not remember enough to be able to use it. Much of his Short term memory had returned and his long term as well. So he remembers more and ore of his lives each passing day but not enough to understand any of it. Coin thinks he may be going slightly mad. He still doesn't know or realise just how invincible he is physically, and as such still doesn't stand up very often. But he has learned that he is immensely strong, and enjoys the occasional arm wrestling match.

Coin does not remember any of the events from teh previous cycle his awakening not ocuring before his mind nigh wiped itself again. And he's still grifting city to city. But hearts call to him and he follows the beating.

Name: Brock Pyron
Age: 436
Hgt: 6'7"
Wgt: 250 pounds
Dragon: Red
Appearance: Tall, and with a massive, muscular build. Wears brown leather pants, black boots, and shoulder armor on his left side. Hear is a neck length mane of deep crimson, with a matching goatee.
History: A warrior born, Brock enjoys the challenge of battle and has fought in every conflict he has had opportunity to be a part of since his birth. He wears minimal armor, instead relying on his huge war axe, and natural healing abilities to protect him. Outside of battle he is jovial and good natured, lending aid to all that might ask for it. Always ready for a fight or a drink, or a fight, he lives forever in the moment, enjoying each day as if it might be his last.

Appearance: Dark skinned, filled out nicely, she has pigtails most of the time. Her hair is died teal of sorts but is naturally black. Green eyes and there you have it...
History: Two years ago, Gia had lived in the City of Promise where she met a man named Cole. Upon his arrival strange things began to occur but none stranger then learning the man she was falling for was indeed a dragon. To her added delight he was of the black variety one of her favorites... however with this realization, dangers began to grow on the horrizon as the two became more found of each other. Eventually, she gave over Cole's heart to him, rejuvenating his full potential, only for their short lived reunion to be shattered by a rogue dragon. In the ensuing battle, Gia lost all her memories of Cole,her former life with her friends, and the City of Promise itself, though she still has strange dreams from that time.

Interestingly, the heart once given to Cole has returned to her, how this has happened is unclear (perhaps a need to protect her on Cole's part), either way she has no knowledge of this reunion of his heart. Though the emptiness of his absence is fresh in her mind and yet she doesn't know why. Living in the City of Tranquility where she awoke memoryless, she works once again in the familiar environment of a bar though for whatever reason she just cannot bring herself to leave the place often looking to the door with each patron that enters but unsure why.

I hope some dragons are selfish and just want hearts for themeselves because they are greedy power house bastards, or others that aren't really interested in finding love but want their heart so seduce their keeper then kills her off....hehe or leaves her at the very least.

Nope you gotta google or wiki for that but the general idea is that they are simply just dragons. You make them how you'd like to potray them..

Though tenko has more knowledge of dragons then I.
