I think the quarantine is legal. The SCOTUS has upheld them in the past. They were routine in my childhood. The governor has a duty to society that trumps her inconvenience. She didn't have to go to Africa and potentially expose herself.

Youre correct. Around 1900 quarantines were required for all immigrants, the MDs checked them daily for several days then released them. When I was a kid whole familes were quarantined for lethal contagious diseases.

Three weeks is an imposition and inconvenience for Hickok, and maybe a life-saver for others.

Quarantines are neither good nor bad, but sometimes they are necessary. I'll feel better if she still has a clean bill after November 10, which I understand is 21 days after her last exposure. I think she may have been stigmatized by some of the health professionals that have done stupid shit while exhibiting symptoms, like the doctor in NYC who used mass transit to go bowling and the nurse in Dallas who flew to Ohio and back on a commercial airliner. Sometimes the gummermint has to step in and make people not do stupid shit that has the potential of endangering other people who don't know that they might be being exposed to a potentially life threatening disease for which there is limited treatment.

I doubt that she is taking her temperature 24/7.
