WELL, WELL: Justice Dept. grants immunity to staffer who set up Clinton email server.
The Justice Department has granted immunity to the former State Department staffer who worked on Hillary Rodham Clinton’s private email server, a sign the FBI investigation into possible criminal wrongdoing is progressing.
A senior U.S. law enforcement official said the FBI had secured the cooperation of Bryan Pagliano who worked on Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign before setting up the server in her New York home in 2009.
As the FBI looks to wrap up its investigation in the coming months, agents will likely want to interview Clinton and her senior aides about the decision to use a private server, how it was set up, and whether any of the participants knew they were sending classified information in emails, current and former officials said.
The inquiry comes against a sensitive political backdrop in which Clinton is the favorite to secure the Democratic nomination for the presidency.

Going forward little snippets like these are the only things we're going to hear about the email scandal. The story is going to fade away just like everything else the Clintons do.

Seems to me this is an ominous development. This guy pleaded the fifth, and now is being granted immunity on the condition he testify truthfully, under threat of perjury, about something or someone. Can't be a good thing for the Hillary camp.

If using private email as Secretary of State were illegal then Condi Rice and Colin Powell would be in prison already. They both also received (NOW) classified information via private e-mail. Where the server that handles that email is located is immaterial.

Funny thing, when I was in the military I had various responsibilities that required me to have a Top Secret/Cryptographic security clearance. I take handling top secret information rather seriously. Apparently some don't.

I also carried a TS clearance with CTSA access. I spent my days decrypting messages containing nuclear launch codes and target coordinates. Never was I just "expected to know" that something was classified, it was all VERY clearly marked, every fucking scrap.
I've yet to see an email from the "BENGHAZI" debacle marked in any way, only determined to be classified after the fact, JUST LIKE the emails found on Condi Rice's and Colin Powell's private email accounts.
Members of the Rethuglican investigative committee spilled the beans on this long ago, it's about political assassination by any means necessary.

The people who gather the intelligence and send it back to the States don't mark it top secret, even in code, but they know what's top secret and what is not. The Secretary of State should know that as well, whether it's marked as such or not.

As clueless about classified intelligence gathering and transmittal as you are about a host of other things I see.
regardless, it was not and is not illegal for the Sec. of State to use a private email account. If the Rethuglicans were really concerned about national security and not just political assassination they wouldn't be concerned about information that has been UPGRADED to classified or sensitive after the fact. Their concern would be information that WAS CLASSIFIED at the time it was transmitted. So far they have ZERO.
The same sort of things were found in both Condi Rice's and Colin Powell's email accounts (classified after the fact) and neither of them are being threatened by the GOP show trial. Why is that?
