I worked closely with lawyers for many years and I'm convinced that anyone can get in or out of law school. I used to sit in the courtroom and observe lawyers hang out together before court; I've seen homeless bums dress better.
But excellent lawyers all have the same things in common...theyre polite, speak calmly, listen more than they talk, tone down the dress, and are friendly. If your lawyer wears boots or cowboy hat or glows in the dark or is loud...get another lawyer.
Can you imagine being defended by a mental deficient ?

Remove Congress and there would be no progress. We'd still have children working in sweatshops, and a Love Canal in every county in the USA. Wasn't it Congress that gave us public education - the building block of America's Industrial Revolution? Wasn't it Congress that gave us the Interstate highway system? Wasn't it Congress that did away with the Jim Crow voting laws?
I may not be an expert on the minutiae of American history, but I do know a bogus, empty Fox News slogan when I see one. Shouldn't you be adding your two cents over at the "Clever Republicans" thread, TE99?
Now, back to your "I hate government, and retards" thread.
ETA: For all you entitlement-haters out there, what would be your solution for dealing with the handicapped? On the one hand, you don't want the government enacting "socialist" programs to help the disadvantaged, on the other hand, when the disadvantaged try to go out and make it on their own, without government help, you ridicule them.
Well? Obviously you have a better idea. What is it?
[/I]TE999;33284804[I said:]Yet another example of the government's 'politically correct' idiocy gone rampant; hiring people to fill abstract quotas rather than the most qualified. This is yet another example of the all beneficent government so many people are willing to entrust their very existence to. I for one cannot imagine why.

These qualifications must be left overs from the Bush Administration. How else do you explain the hiring of John Ashcroft and Alberto Gonzales?
On the serious side, there is a purpose for the qualifications--to prevent lawsuits from candidates denied a right to apply.
Thirdly, I ridicule no one that doesn't deserve it, which does not include anyone who honestly tries to better themselves, but does include idiots like you whose idea of a discussion is to spew vituperation, assumed generalities and hatred for anyone who you disagree with.
When and if you learn the basics of intelligible discourse look me up...on second thought, don't...I don't have that kind of time.![]()

Over here we call them 'Public Defenders'...they're sort of a social worker with a law degree. They arrive brimming with idealisim, burn out fairly quickly and either remain as cynical drones or leave to become junior partners in law firms specializing in rake injuries.
Can we all agree that "Politics" is just theater and that our "politicians" are just actors in the play speaking the lines written by their masters?
You're the one who added this to the discussion:
Now it's my turn to say "Don't hold back. Let us know what you really think...if you can call that thinking."
If you're concerned about "intelligible discourse", then why did you post this:
which looks a lot like one of those "assumed generalities" you accused me of using.
Really, TE99, if "intelligible discourse" is your goal, you appear to be going about it ass-backwards.
Should I not have added to this discussion if I disagree with you? What monumental arrogance. Brooking no opposition is a sure sign of a weak argument.
That comment about Public Defenders falls under the category of cynical humor not discourse...I'm sorry you cannot differentiate between the two.
The day when you can post without repeatedly defaming those who disagree with you is the day you'll achieve true 'intelligible discourse'.
That's TE999 by the way.
HA! A twit photobomb!Maybe they already found one.
