Hey, America: You can now explore the national epidemic of teacher-student sex romps in hardcover form (or in a Kindle edition, or via unabridged audible audio).

Alissa Nutting’s debut novel, Tampa (Ecco/HarperCollins) involves a very randy protagonist, 26-year-old middle-school teacher Celeste Price. She seduces a 14-year-old male student in hedonistic, sociopathic, American Psycho style.

There’s sex at the student’s house. There’s sex in the teacher’s empty classroom. There’s sex everywhere.

So obviously sex stories are becoming more mainstream. Perhaps 50 Shades broke the "glass ceiling" so to speak.

Thoughts?

How graphic did the underage sex get? I could see an outcry about that but it would be nice for erotica to become more mainstream.

Bad Asylum go read the darn thing and get back to us. :p

Personally I'm betting it will be like the Anne Rice Sleeping Beauty trilogy of his sex sliding inside of her then cut to the next morning.

It's an underage boy; if it was an underage girl, screaming chants of pedophilia would precede the mention of this book anywhere it was offered.

This isn't the way I would want erotica "breaking into the mainstream."

I'd say the 'latex ceiling' was broken, but I digress. ;)

Books describing teacher/student sex romps have been a pornographic mainstay since the invention of writing, but were always sold 'under the counter' in cigar stores and barber shops. Now porn is mainstream and in the case of teacher/student boinkings literally 'ripped from today's headlines'. Where would porn films and hentai comics be without illicit relationships between horny teachers and well hung students?

Funny thing is, the more some people try to censor such subject matter, the more blatantly it's displayed in today's media.

This will not fly on amazon. A few complaints (and there will be more than a few) and this will be pulled. It was demonstrated before.

This author is going to make things worse than they already are for iny erotica over there.

Remember the double standard. In straight fiction under age is okay. In Erotica it takes on a whole new meaning and people get very nervous with it.

There's a lesson in there. Think about it, the more against everything something is, the more some people want to do it.

Look at drugs for example, drugs are illegal, and something like half the country, well not really but you know does drugs. At least half of the kids graduating college this year have encountered if not actively done drugs at least once.

Let's look at Prohibition, the very day the law came in to effect, people who had never drunk anything in their life, went to find a speakeasy.

Underage sex is the new incest. There used to be movies detailing mom being fucked by her son in porn, that was the big oh my god thing. Now, it's teacher fucking his students or being fucked by her students. Give it another year and there will be teachers being fucked by his students.

For the record amazon got on their moral horse about incest awhile back.

Well if you look through all those step mommy/daddy stories you will find many "real" ones.

Now they do screen on this material so either they slipped through or have been there a long time.

But my point is if you look at their rankings? Most are under 10K in the paid store. They are selling 15-20 copies a day easy.

I found one that had 7 reviews and a score of 2. Every review called it out as not just incest, but rape of a teenager.

Ranked 1,602.

That's a good 30 sales or so a day. 1000 sales in a a month so Emap is right. the more taboo it is the more people flock to it.

For those of you who are around my age remember the huge fascination with the faces of Death Videos? That "banned in however many countries" advert had us tripping over ourselves to rent them.
