Does this mean Lit accepted your submission now?

Well, there are very many stories that come into Lit in any one given day. That takes them time to go through and check each and every one. Also, depending on when you submitted your story, if the Halloween contest was still going on any submissions for the contest would have taken presedence over yours. (And that's true for any of the "holiday/seasonal" contests.)

Still left me curious why you "deleted" your thread, per se.

Because I thought that I should be allowed to delete my own post. I'm a bit disappointed that I can't. I am surprised that the system doesn't let me.

Also I have stories that are pending for months. One of them is particularly good, too, it's a shame. Something is wrong. They should either be approved or rejected.

The reason the site owners don't allow "full" deletion is because if/why anyone else replies to your thread, but then you delete it, you're taking away some of their post totals as well and not just yours. The owners didn't want that happening. So, the editing is the best you get.

As for a submission taking a month, try PMing one of the owners (Laurel) and ask her if she knows why it's taken this long now. One other question/suggestion for you is, have you gone back and edited the submission at all while it's been pending? Maybe changed the title a little? Maybe clicked that edit tool open, even if you never changed anything? If so, that puts your story back at the "bottom" of the queueing line.
