Dropped by the local Humane Society yesterday and left with a new dog and $30 worth of new dog toys. He is 7 years old, a miniature schnauzer. He was just an apathetic scraggly mop, but a trip to the beauty parlor revealed a jaunty, happy pup. Seems to be house trained.

Presenting Charly, the wonder Schnauzer...

Welcome to the newest memeber of you family! I hope you have many good years together, what a handsome fella he is!

The hat really suits him. He's a pretty serious guy yet. He is still acclimating to his new home. Arrived home last night at 9pm. I should have named him Abe, but my son named him. I am under the false impression that he will help me with training and other doggie stuff.

I like him! He's cuuuute!

They had an alligator at the Humane Society, as well, next to the rabbits.

But I thought a dog would be more cuddly and I can bring him to my clinic

Is that to make for shorter trips when they need to feed the alligaotor?

:D

I know, don't say it - I need help.

That was my thought, actually.
What a cruel trick to play on an unsuspecting reptile
Dinner is THIS close....

At the Detroit Zoo they built this wonderful new Arctic exhibition. At one point
you go through a tunnel under the water where you can see the seals swimming on one side, and the polar bears on the other. Someone always says "Gee, it must drive the bears crazy to be able to see the seals" and I always think "Jesus, how do you think the seals feel??"

He's absolutely adorable, with or without the hat!

He seems to be a couch potato after our walk this morning. Those little legs can truck! Had to speed walk to keep up. Love the hat, though.

he would be perfect to lie on your bed and cheer you up through your recuperation.

Finding a snuggler can be fun... That's what my peek-a-poolikes to do fast... and you are right about the legs... no matter how small they seem, some of these tiny dogs can book...

Looks like you got yourself a cutie there... :D

My mom has a 14 year old Lhasa Apso. He is blind, about half deaf, and doesn't do much but eat and sleep these days, but he has been climbing up in bed with me almost every night.
Plus, my sister brought my two kitties over, so it gets a little crowded in here!
