Wish I could stay and play and read and comment and stuff but I've been busy taking care of a coupe of sick kids of the four legged variety. :(

Hopefully they'll be back up on their paws and running soon. :)

sorry to hear about that, M - best of luck with your nursing :rose:

Thanks, though it isn't going so well.

The happiest friendliest cat there ever was that we took in after it was dumped by its owners onto our farm passed away on Sat due to complications from a bladder blockage.

The very same day we brought our 9 year old German Shepherd home from the 2nd vet after Xrays showed cancer spread throughout his organs. To make matters worse, the first vet that looked at him prescribed too high of an iron supplement for his anemia which resulted in iron poisoning.

I doubt I'll be back any time soon.

:(

I'm sorry to hear it. I lost my favorite dog ever--also a German Shepherd--to cancer that was too far gone to treat. I still miss him.

Here's to a better vet for your furry kids and better days ahead for us both. :rose:

i'll drink to that wish, Angeline.

Sorry to hear all your troubles, Magnetron. I am sure you give the dog company and love, and that is the best that a dog needs. They are like humans in that. C u later, pal!

I am so sorry you are having such a bad time with your furbabies. I certainly know they mean far more to us than mere animals ............ they are family :rose:

Losing a friend, four legged or otherwise, is terrible... I am sorry for your loss and for the situation with your dog. :rose:

Lost ours not too long ago and it still hurts like a son of a bitch. Can sympathize magnetron.

Thanks yawl for the kind words.

The Shepherd passed just after midnight and we buried them this morning together ..... the Kitty hugged between his arms.

As if it wasn't enough .... I've got another cat suffering from a bladder infection possibly brought about by stones. :( He's on a special diet and antibiotics now.

I seriously feel like I've been dragged behind a horse for a few miles.

Mag, I'm sorry about your cat and your dog. I like the image of you having them together in sending them off to the Rainbow Bridge. I had a boy cat who passed away from the same reason as yours. Months later, I wrote this poem for him:

Zephyr's Reprieve

Frustrated
at the kitchen table,
doing mundane inane tasks
bills, bills, and books,

I felt a hello,
a serpentine around
and through ankles.

I'll tell ya
I don't know if I believe
in ghosts, or angels

but for a moment there,
I forgot you were gone
and called out your name.
I hope your other boy is doing better and you're doing better too. :rose:

Thanks.

He seems to be improving on the latest round of antibiotics. And we just have to keep him from eating what the other 4 housecats eat and vice versa. Which isn't too difficult. Instead of leaving dry food out 24/7 - everyone gets theirs in a re-sealable bowl 5 to 6 times daily.

He just has to learn to eat enough to make it through the night without having to paw at the pantry door in order to wake us up.
