I went on a mini-tour of New England and was able to read my poetry in a few cafes and coffee houses and participated in a poetry slam :D New England is beaitiful but the snow and cold is not my idea of ideal weather :D

Great! I hope you enjoyed it! I am sure you had the ladies' attention :) How was the slam? I am always amazed how they can memorize so much, I do not think I could do it if I tried! What did you read?

:D as soon as i figure out how I'll be posting some pics of my trip :D

I really enjoyed it and I made it all the way to the semi final round before I was eliminated. I read three poems Old Geezer's Rap, Old School Time, and Let's do This, Iwas received favorably by all. I'm supposed to go back in the spring :D

Golf courses are opening in the Badger State. Projected high of 45 today. This Global Warmng thing is the best thing since pre-fried cheese curds.

I've developed a grudging appreciation for global warming over the past two winters. :p

Actually the high is in the 40s here, too, today. It won't last though.

Maine-ahs are hardy. I can look out my living-room window and see them jogging by over the snow and ice patches in shorts and t-shirts.

I'm gonna go turn up the thermostat.

You can golf in the morning and ski all afternoon if you've got the energy then have a great meal from just about any country in the world up here. No GW required.

:) <<<< smug smile - smirk if you will.

I figure I won't have to move south when I retire. I'll just wait for the south to come to me.

I'm planning on winning the HGTV dreamhouse. It's real big and it's south, too. You can visit.

Ah! You just reminded me of X-country treks on our local golf course on moon lit Ottawa nights. There's nothing like a full moon to bring out one's insanity.

Thank you, fly. You badgers are so sweet--no kidding. Best ice cream I ever had was made by the UW aggies and sold at the student union in Madison.

....

There is a working dairy on campus. One of the best t-shirts around was a UW shirt that featured a cow from behind. "Come smell our dairy air!" it said.

I agree with La Swirl. It's a nerve-wracking thing to do at the best of times but in competition......awesome indeed, and to get to the semis - well done!
