Just discovered that comedian Keith Lemon is not a real person.

I had no clue that he was a character. Three
months ago, I discovered a Celebrity Juice clip on
youtube and was hooked. I just thought he was a
crazy British comedian that hosted a crazy British
game show.

Recently, I was watching a youtube clip of his
other show where he plays a bunch of different
celebrities. Afterwards, this clip auto-played. As
I watched, I thought:

"This bit really isn't that funny. Who's this celebrity
he's playing, "Leigh Francis""?

I did a search on imdb.com & my world was kinda
shattered...fuck.

I had a surreal Truman Show moment where I was
now unsure if the other people on the show were
characters as well. Was Gino DeCampo actually a
dude from Sheffield that was acting like an Italian
celebrity chef?

I ended up doing a bunch of google searches for
Holly Willoughby, Fearne Cotton & others to
confirm that they were not characters as well.
Really surprised that Joey Essex is not a character
because he might be the dumbest man on Earth.

Sadly Joey Essex is 100% genuine.
Everyone I know seems to find his lack of a brain cute, but he just irritates me with his stupidity.

At this point I do wonder how much of Keith Lemon is an act. Beyond his signature catchphrases it wouldn't surprise me if Leigh Francis is really like that since most of his characters are.

I don't understand how someone as profoundly stupid as Joey Essex is, has managed to survive to adulthood without accidentally dying. I could picture him as a young teen chasing squirrels into the street.

He's the type of person that lucks his way through life.
He has no skills or ability to learn skills. There was one whole saga devoted to teaching him how to tell the time from a clock. He couldn't even manage that at a pace most mentally retarded children can achieve.
I get the feeling that if someone ever stabbed him, he would gush oil from the wound and people would throw more money at him.
