...and without reading through every rule and posting, why do you suppose beastiality stories aren't allowed? Not that I've written a few or anything

I believe it's because animals, like minors, cannot give their consent. But if you want to read or write bestiality stories there are other sites which allow them, such as

You know I'm not exactly sure which is worse, the fact there are sites that allow that or the fact you two know them. 
Also because beastiality is illegal, it's basically on par with having sex with a young teenager, they don't know the difference. OK granted a young teenager and an animal know what feels good and what they would like to have happen, but neither knows of the drawbacks, neither knows of the consequences, and neither knows what safe sex means.
No seriously, look at how many underage mothers and pregnant girls there are in the states.
Oh heck, may as well add the fact that many parents don't have THAT talk with their kids anymore, I mean I remember getting that talk, and being embarrassed as all heck, and my mom was pretty pinkish to, but it still ISN'T something to be avoided. Same as talking about drugs, yeah you used them, still talk to your kids about them, tell them the nasty side effects for crying out loud.

Safe sex doesn't exactly apply to animals - you can't get an animal pregnant or vice versa, and most venereal diseases aren't cross-contagious. Some animals, particularly dogs, will on their own initiative attempt to mate with humans, and give lots of indications of enjoying the experience and wanting to do it again. Me, I have no personal interest in bestiality because I consider intelligence sexy and animals just aren't that intelligent. I just think it's pretty absurd that we can legally kill and eat animals but not screw them.

Absurd huh, let's talk absurdities. 
In the States, it is quite allright to show people being decapitated, blown up, body parts getting taken off in one manner or another, but if you show breasts people get upset and call it objectification of women, if two people have nude sex it's an outrage.
For instance, Saving Private Ryan is an R rated movie, people raved about it showing the atrocities of war and keeping a human touch to it. Debbie does Dallas, people go in front of the theatres showing it in picket lines, booing and badmouthing anyone who tried to get into the theatre, and it was villified because it showed in graphic detail a woman giving a blow job and various other things, but of course I've NEVER met a man who doesn't want a blowjob, I've heard about them, but they were always Cathloc so they can only have sex to propagate the species and that was all they can do. As I recall, the wife isn't supposed to have an orgasm either, if she does it's a sin, minor sin but sin.
So what I don't understand, why is it OK to show a man killing himself on the news in graphic detail with the slow motion replays, it's OK to show people being blown up, in a war or not, but it's not OK to show anything beyond holding hands and kisses?
Heck if they showed more porn and less war more people would be spending every waking moment trying to get laid instead of every waking moment trying to kill people or start a war. I am pretty sure cops and their wives would be tons happier cause half the time they try and kill the cops.

Yes, it's not a legality issue (incest is also illegal), it's a lack of consent issue. People under the age of 18 can't consent, and animals can't consent.
(Also, thats why in the "nonconsent" category, the participants can't actually be raped, they can only be reluctant.)

I've found one or two non consent where it actually was a rape, though part of a larger story, either series or long story, and hard to get right apparently, one I read is part of a series and she complained about having to redo it a couple times.
However all that said, beastiality is a no no here, because of the reasons above and the people running literotica don't like it. I know it used to be allowed, but doesn't mean they liked it or that literotica was getting good feedback.

I had a story rejected because of the rape I put in it... it was a rape, I didn't sugar coat it. . .nonconsent to me means.... NO... that means... rape. I have an issue with the category having nonconsent even in the name, because it is rape... just leave it reluctance. *shrugs*
with that said..
The reason I know of the othersite is because I posted my nonconsent one there since Lit. wouldn't post it unless I sugarcoated rape. Pfft!

It is and it isn't, if you show some sort of pleasure in the rape they will allow it, if it's an actual rape and you take no pleasure it's not allowed most of the time.
That said, there is nonconsent section cause well, say your husband ties you down, blindfolds you and let's someone else do you, you didn't say yes he can fuck me cause you couldn't see him, so that is nonconsent, but not exactly a rape since you didn't know it wasn't your husband.

If it is a rape story write it, submit it, see what happens. There is nothing else to be done cus the line blurs and has as much to do with what mood the censors are in at the moment as anything else. I've gotten some pretty raunchy stuff through and read a few stories that included beastiality on this site, it really depends on if it is the focal point of the story blah blah blah. Just don't mention it in your story tags.
