And no, as far as I know, the majority of stories aren't originally someone elses stories. If they were, we wouldn't need to think of new original story ideas in this very forum.

It's true that "pretty much any story out there has already been written", but I doubt anyone at Lit is deliberately plagiarizing someone else. I also believe that *most everyone* here writes about topics we know/like. Some claim to have written from real experiences...

There are 26 letters in our alphabet. All have been used many times.
We only use several hundred words in our everyday life.
Most of us don't even know 1,000 words. And, they've all been used many times by other people.
Most of the ideas we have are not original. SOMEONE has thought of them before.
It's true that many stories sound similar to some we have read before. It's hard to put all those words together into something that will draw someone's attention and paint a nice picture in their minds for them to enjoy.
That's the challenge for us and I'm amazed at how the good writers can manage to write something that sounds new and different, and pull us in and move us in some way.
Keep writing and give us a link to your work when there's something you want to share with us.
