I was at my ex wifes today because my son was sick and couldnt go to the sitters ..Any way she had some dishes in the sink and i did them for her ..She came home and opened the cabnit and started freaking out about how i put the glasses in ..My question is do you put them in right side up or upside down ..i put them in upside down ..my reason being that i dont want dust or any thing else getting into my glasses..

I would think that the fact that you did them at all would mitigate any preference in the matter.

I put them down to keep dust out as well.

I didn't know there *was* another way.

I've always put glasses away upside down. That way, nothing gets in them. And if they're a little wet from washing when you put them away, they finish drying nicely.

I thought everyone did it that way.

Mine are in the cabinets upside down. I'm not sure if there is an "official" right way. I think in your case it might be one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" deals!

You'd be surprised how little things can be completely unappreciated. It's happened to me a lot with my ex as well. It's a way of being petty and small.

I put mine upside down too. But let me tell ya, if you had put them anywhere I would have appreciated it. Doing something like that is a wonderful gesture. I would have thanked you regardless of how you put them in.

but, I don't think that you're 'damned if you do', unless you did the dishes for your ex's approval. Maybe you did them for your son? Maybe you did them because they needed to be done? Maybe you did them because you are who you are? Unappreciated and unnoticed gestures only suggest someone else's incognizance. I for one don't appreciate all the nice gestures done on my behalf. I just hope that my ingratitude doesn't condemn each time. I too, have been known to 'bite the hand that feeds' me.
Your son needs you to maintain a good attitude towards his mother. In time, hopefully, he will be grateful for that.
