because I don't know how long I can keep posting today before having to disconnect my laptop. I am leaving for Turkey in approximately 14.5 hours (yes at two in the morning  and I'll be gone for almost the entire month. It's not a vacation, it's an archeology class that includes visiting biblical sites and such.

I'm also trying my very best to recover from being sick (slight fever, dizzyness, swollen throat and headache) while packing and getting everything ready.

I will miss you guys a lot while I'm gone  :rose:

Hey Jen ... I'm gonna miss you while you're gone. I hope you are feeling better by the time you get on the plane ... there's nothing worse than not feeling well while stuck on a plane.

Although it may not be a vacation ... it sounds a heck of allot more interesting than any class trip I went on. I'm sure it will be fun, fascinating and they'll work your ass off (student labour!).

Have a safe trip and we'll be counting the days until your return.

I was planning on the pictures part... bought a 1 GB compact flash card and backup batteries for my digital camera yesterday.

No need to be worried, this isn't nearly as bad as where I was originally going to go (Israel). I've been to Turkey (I think) four times so far, and I'm pretty sure the worst thing that should happen is a protesting stomach because of the difference in food, and some slimy turkish guys hitting on me.

You guys will be in my thoughts also... as a matter of fact, I am taking my laptop with, so I'll probably have plenty for you to edit when I get back :)

Thank so much  :rose:

I truly hope so as well... (about the feeling better part), I am so seasoned in airplane travel by now that I think I'll be fine either way, but the thing is, it is going to be a trip that will take a lot of stamina out of me. The sitting in the airplane part isn't what 'm worried about.

First of all we're going to drive to Chicago O'Hare, which is a six-hour trip in a van. Then there's the first flight to LaGuardia, where we have to take a fucking shuttle through NYC in order to get to JFK. With luggage. Yeah, not so much looking forward to that one. Then there's the actual flight to Istanbul, which I'm estimating will take about nine hours. And then the transportation from the Airport to he hotel in Istanbul, and I haven't the slightest clue how long that's going to take.

But I do think that the trip will be fun, and thank you for all of the well-wishes  I'm sure you guys will have a fun time here without me, I'll be sure to bring back pictures and entertaining stories.

Waitaminute!!! What about Jenna and Seth ... will I ever find out how that ends up?!?!? ;)

You'll find out as soon as Jen finish writing it I guess. I'm waiting to read it as anxiously as you are....I'm not getting any younger you know. ;)

I'm in the middle of writing Ch.06 right now, but there are a few things I'd like to tweak in Chapters 4 and 5 before submitting them, because I just figured out the complete storyline, and obviously I'd like everything in the story to make sense.

I promise you'll get to read it all eventually! (Thanks so much for the question, by the way :D   )

Oh, also... do me a favor and pray my laptop doesn't die during the transportation? It's not the newest and the screen is cracked as hell (I probably wouldn't take a shiny new laptop abroad anyway). I've bought an external harddrive to back up my files just in case, but I've taken my laptop places before and I know it takes a toll on it every time.

I really want to be able to write during that month, as well as listen to CDs.

Edit: Man, between here and posting all of my leftover pictures on my pic thread, I wonder if I'll hit 2000 posts before I leave.

Okay, really going now...

I need to pack up my laptop, so goodbye... play nice and be good and think of me once in a while (on my birthday :) ), I'll miss all of you a lot.

But you didn't make it to 2000 posts ....! Ah well, something to look forward to when you get back.

Have a good trip, Jen. We'll miss you!

-plays peeker-

Of course not. You are twenty-one exactly - just as you have been for the last [xx] years.

Awww you see...that's one of the reason why I lurvvvvvvvvvv you gramps. That uncanny ability that you have to cheer me up and say the nicest thing to me without me having to say a word.

Did someone tell you lately that it's always a pleasure and a gift to see your grumpy self around here? :rose:

No - there are few habitual liars round here.

Well then, let me say it to you. I'm always happy and glad to see you make an apparition around here. The last time you disappeared for a while I was worried we wouldn't see you again but just like the phoenix you rose from your ashes :nana: and came back.

Well - not quite from the ashes. I did have a job getting the coffin lid off from the inside, though.
