"What other people think of me, is none of my buisness."

When you walk into a room (or a forum) Five percent of the people already there will love you. Five percent of the people there will hate you. The other ninety percent of the people just don't give a shit!
I write for my own enjoyment, and for the five percent that love me. I hope that the five percent that hate me can be honest with me in their comments of my work though, as that is the only way to learn and grow. Honesty, challenge, and practice.

mskitty, in a writers' forum, it is about the work not the individual. That's a lesson every serious writer learns. The sooner the better. Find a critic/peer(s) whose style and opinion you respect. Focus on the challenges of writing better not on being popular nor liked.

My experience here is that no one hates anyone. Most members here care a great deal about their peers and their efforts to become better writers and poets.

Personal issues usually can be best ironed out privately.

Peace,

daughter

just a thought

When you first walk in a room, you see a whole lot. Some you will immediately like. Some things will piss you off. If you hang out a while, you just might form a different opinion of things.

Keep writing.

Peace,

daughter

yeah cause I love daughter's writings, but that guuuuuurl gets on my last nerve.

:D :p ;)

c'mon daughter gimme sum sugah

smoooooooooooooooooch

How you doin', poet?

I'll be gone soon for work business. Hold down the fort. :)

Peace,

daughter

Thanks for the advice Daughter,
I have already met a few people both here and outside of here authors, and readers whom i do respect, and work with. When I notice someone else that seems to have something I admire, I talk to them as well.
If I had been worried about being popular and liked, some of your posts would have already scared me off LOL.
As for no one hating anyone else, boy I'd love to visit the planet you're living on someday!! For most *Adults* however such an emotion does not get in the way of the way they act or react to others.
As for personal issues, I was certainly not "ironing out" any here. This post was simply a thought, as I described it. Something to touch on that most people don't consider when their first attempts at posting here are ignored by the regulars, or slammed down because they didn't know the rules. I have seen several over different areas of this forum and simply wanted to post something on the "other" side of that coin.
Lastly, I am not, nor wish to be, "A serious writer" My work is an expression of who I am, and my experiances and/or fantasies. I write for my own pleasure and that of anyone that wishes to read it. Had I known this forum was for "Serious writers" I would not have wasted my time here, However that doesnt' seem to be the case. I see many people just learning the joys of writing, so I will stay and visit with *them*

serious enough to share

mskitty--

Why you wanna hurt my feelings? Serious writers enjoy expressing themselves, too. Don't take me too seriously. I don't.

I will concede I am no nonsense. I'm also one of those members who's glad you're here. I welcomed you here the day you showed up. Read your work, and I also sent you feedback(not every entry). Maybe you missed it since it was never acknowledged. If newbies feel slammed or ignored, I ask that they hang out a bit to get a fair assesstment of us here, many of whom are absent simply because of the holidays.

You like to call me point for point, mskitty.
My experience here is that no one hates anyone.
Clearly I wasn't speaking any universal truth. :)

Poet, do what you gotta do to get comfortable. I did.

Peace,

daughter

Re: serious enough to share

Daughter... ((hugs)) I do not want to hurt your feelings. I have actually enjoyed our debates if everyone saw eye to eye about everything life would be so boring!! I guess I should have been more clear in that. I look at it as more if a fiery discussion!
As for feedback, I am sorry to admit I must have missed it. I'll either Pm or email the reasons that could have happened later. I would be interested in knowing what you had to say please, if it isn't to much trouble!

are you settin' me up

You want to know what I think?

Give me a little time. I have a work trip coming up. I promise to say something.

Peace,

daughter

*smiles innocently*

Noppers, if i was setting you up Daughter, I'd say something about oriental rugs and asian decorating habits. ((grin)) I hope your trip goes well.
