Just a thought on the nomination/awards

Maybe instead of asking people to nominate a particular story, we should solicit people willing to vote on a particular category. Each person would be limited to only one category. Let people post their choice for about 2 months or so, then the voting would be done only by them through email and not the site as a whole. You'd get some coming in with built in biases, but perhaps others who would make an effort to be objective. With so many stories being posted everyday, a narrowing of the focus would seeme helpful.

While I think that would be a more valid way to judge the stories, I still think Laurel is interested in involving as many of her members as possible in recognizing the writers of the site.

I think it's great of you to be thinking of alternatives though.
