Being from NYS and having quite a few friends in the city I have been very saddened and disturbed by the terroristic attack on our country. There is no blame in our president, our govt our people...only in those who perpetrated this heinous act.

What saddens me most is how many times have we gone off to sleep or to work angry with our spouse, parent, friend, child. How many of the people killed today were in a hurry and didnt kiss their loved ones goodbye or spend that little extra time with their child before school/work.

Make sure to take the time with your loved ones to let them know how much they mean to you. How much you love them. How even when you disagree that they are important and loved. Never leave them on angry words, who knows if they will be the last they hear.

How sad to perhaps leave this world with anger, hurt and pain as your last emotion. And for the person left behind it must make the grief so much greater.

I felt the need and called and emailed anyone who means anything to me today. As our mortality is so unpredictable. All the people I have met thru Lit are very special too. They give me a place to be me, to feel welcome, to not be judged by superficial things, to express myself. Everyone stay safe, be with those you love and cherish life.

i know what you mean my girlfriend was at work i phoned her almost right away and she was already heading home early because she wanted to be with me i cant imagine what the poor people are going through with people they care about unaccounted for

Parts of the freeways were closed off today here in houston as (apparently) precaution measures. My sister and I discussed how we need to have a place to meet in the event of a disaster. Not just like what occurred today, but also in the event of natur caused problems.

It might be a good idea for each of you to discuss that with your loved ones.

(Another problem I have is not KNOWING people's phone numbers since I just use the speed dial all the time.)

it is sad to think that someone is missing a loved one, a father, a mother, daughter, son, husband, wife, bf, gf, etc.
it puts our problems into perspective does it not?
it makes me appreciate my family and my friends all the more.
i am lucky to have friends here at lit.
( and i am glad to have made some new friends.)
i feel lucky and greatful for that.
wish i could hug you all in person but i know that is not possible.
