She and I were archaeologists for a prestigious university I will not name here. I'm Alex. Her name is Natalie.

After three months in the Congo, we finally reached the end of the map, so to speak. We had been camping for over six weeks, setting up a meager camp by night (two tents for each of us to sleep and a canvas to throw over some of the equipment). Our hired guides would direct us by day, then, when given the word, disappear into the jungle by night, never to be seen until daylight.

Our final day of travel began with much anticipation. "Nat, today is the day we have been waiting for. The Lost Amulet of Narsosia! I can't believe it!" She smiled in exhilaration with me, almost dancing.

Something about Natalie. We are purely colleagues. I have always wanted more. I have always wanted her. Of course, I could never tell her of these desires. How would they affect our professional relationship? But oh, what a body. Her hair, brunette and beautiful, professionally kept. Her body - a neck of royalty it seems, a body as curvy as the Pacific Coast Highway, legs longs and sexy. Of course, I can only imagine what she looks like naked. And believe me, I have imagined.

After three hours or so, we reached the X that marks the spot. A cave, covered with thick vegetation. We cut it back with the help of our guides. This was long, sweaty work. But that is everyday here in the Congo. Entering into the cave, we turned on our flashlights and began moving inward.

Finally, we reached the spot. Pulling out our shovels, she grinned so childishly at me. I smiled back. We began to dig. And dig and dig we did. Alas, something hard. Digging around it and pulling it out, we discovered a stone container, beautifully outlined with jewels. Magnificent! She didn't even hesitate to open the box. Reaching in and pulling out an object, I could see her hand pulling out a thin chain, made of what appeared to be pure gold. She held up the artifact, an amulet, holding the light up to it. She sighed, as did I.

"This is it, Natty," I exclaimed, "the amulet that can turn any women into a wild animal."

"Yeah right!" you chuckle.

"Oh you don't believe those legends," I laugh.

"Of course I do, Al," you reply facetiously, laughing again.

"Well, Doctor, there's only one way to find out." I reach for the necklace. She decided to play along. I stood behind her and put it around her neck, attaching the hook in the back...

Oops

Oops, I knew I should have proofread it. It goes from third to second person in the dialogue section. Forgive a "virgin" writer. LOL
