Hey Sc. I'm really computer blonde, so my brother got me a free viewer prgram called Ifran. It will open almost all media and has a resize function. I reccomend it cause it's colleen proof, which is pretty close to fool proof when it comes to computers :)

Jpegs are compatible with all built in and installed photo programs that I know of. You should just be able to locate, then double click and it will default.

PM if you get stuck further.

Are you getting that prompt asking you to pick a programme? Id you've not got "microsoft photofax viewer (or words to the effect) hubby says you can open them via internet explorer and that will work :)

And we have the same programme as colly for opening our pics :)

The program Colly mentioned is available from www.irfanview.com and it's a very good image managment program that can set up the file associations so that it will open when you double-click almost any image type -- including JPeG. It's a totally free program, but it only works on PC/Windows systems; if you're a MAC user, then you're out of luck with Iranview.

sincerely_helene, is also correct that almost any image editing program can handle JPeg, GIF, or BMP formats -- so the program that opens when you double click on a GIF or BMP image should also work for JPeg images.

If all else fails, you can use the file/open option in your browser to open and view JPeG files.

If you have XP your default should be, or you can set it to be the "windows picture and fax viewer" which is the easiest for saying real size or best fit screen size and stuff. "Microsoft Office Picture Editor" is similar for manipulating the viewing stuff if you have Office 2003. A good one for opening multiple lil pics is "quicktime picture viewer", quicktime is also free just google it.

Lastly, two monitors is a must. For opening pics and mails and Lit AH and reading Lit stories and surfin porn all at once.

has anyone here tried picasa? it's not the best for viewing, but it's great for organizing.

oh, yeah. here's a link if anyone is interested. i like it so far. it's free and it's from google. picasa 2

Thanks for the link, sorts by date? I might be able to find some stuff that isn't lost, just mis-placed? I am gonna try it in a minute.

That picasa2 is nice, organized over 16 gigs of pics and movie files in like 15 minutes. easy to look through, thumbs are larger than the default folder views, lighting effects has a "I'm feeling lucky" thing that works well and only changes effects in that picaso view file.

All files stay in the same original location in default folders view and any effect changes made to pics in picaso does not change pics in the default folders. I like it.

I found this pic.

Then you would prolly only have a nickel and a couple pennies. I pay everything on-line, I was looking for some quarters to go to the car-wash the other day, no luck.

You can get a good used monitor cheap. I mostly use it for keeping work on one while playin on the other, makes me remember not to play too long.

I use an image browsing program called ACDSee, it is really quite simple and quick. You can scroll through all the pictures in a directory with the mouse wheel (or page up/page down buttons)

The trial version is free, but you get a register reminder every now and then, and every time you close the program.

I've been using it for 6 years or so now, love it.

2$ coins? Does it have a picture of a beaver on it?

The car-wash here takes 3 quarters, um, thats 75 cents in canadian. Its supposed to last 3 minutes but thats if you got your watch on a street corner.

I have a used monitor that works good, a friend gave it to me free cause she was getting one of the skinny ones. It is nice, sony trinitron, I like it. I don't need a skinny one cause I have a big desk, two monitors, speakers with woofers, wired mouse, wireless mouse. I threw the wireless keyboard back in the box cause it didn't feel right on my fingers.

I'm gonna do my taxes, I better go take somme aspirins.

Oh yea, I tried that acdc image viewer, I had to delete the email that I used to sign up though cause of the spam, I have too many e-mails anyway.

I think I found the problem, ducking head and looking really embarased I saved jpegs as word documents (sound possible?)

Now how can I convert them back to jpegs? Sorry to be such a pain but, I havent got that far in my courses yet! lol

Just change the tag from .doc to .jpg - should do the trick, unless...

you changed anything else

Now I dont know what the fuck I did, I found the email, changed them to bitmap images, and changed what I wanted so they would fit for AV's. Now they wont accept them as AVs cause they arent Jpegs! grrrr!

1. Open up whatever imaging program you use,

2. Open the Bitmap,

3. Choose the 'save as' or 'save a copy' or 'save as optimized' or 'save for web' option. Any or all should allow you to save in Jpeg format. Not sure what program you are using, so can't be more specific than that.

P.S. If you are working in a browser as opposed to an imaging program, I think the "save as" option can be found simply by right clicking on the Bitmap.

Here you go, ReaConverter Pro is a freebie, google it, for converting bitmaps to jpegs without having to open each one and then save it in your other programs. You can choose a bunch at once and convert them.

I have only used it a couple times but keep it cause it is easy to convert multiple images.

Are you actually saying you managed to save jpegs as word docs? Maybe you is just trying to open them with word, right-click and choose open with, browse and pick an image viewer, check the box for always open this type file with, and see, maybe you had done that with word.
