It’s better when you share.
Callahan’s colloquy: Sorrow shared divides, Joy shared multiplies.
I just got back from Stillwater, where I attended the memorial service for the ten men who were killed in a tragic plane crash last Saturday, with 10,000 of my closest friends. It was a remarkable experience. Yes, we mourned them, but more importantly, we celebrated their lives. Somehow the fact that all of these men were doing what they loved to do became an inspiration to us (at least me). And the fact that I was sharing my grief with all of these people somehow made it less crushing and more bearable.
Driving home I was thinking about this, and my thoughts went to Flamingo Blue’s announcement that his daughter Madison was going to marry a wonderful young man. How his sharing of joy brought joy to all of our lives, and made us participants in the very special delight that this brought to him. It is really true, that it is better when you share.
