A few months ago, I learned more than I wanted to know about Josh Duggar's youthful indiscretions. His public contrition seemed to at least partially restore him to the good graces of his family, political party and viewing audience.

But now his credit card number was found among the Ashley Madison data breach. To quote scripture, how the mighty have fallen.

Any Christian [family] making money hand over fist on a reality television show is already suspect in my mind. Not quite as suspect as tv evangelists, but pretty damn (pun intended) close.

I didn't watch the show but knew of them from seeing them on other shows and in magazines. It just makes me sad.

The show wasn't worth watching . waste of money and air time. Would have to read about The rest of these indiscretions so cant comment on that yet

Not necessarily. There are many on my Facebook crying out that no one is perfect, so we shouldn't judge

I just assume that any one who thumps their cult is a bit wacky. It makes these relvations not so surprising.

I don't think a pedophile can be redeemed.

He might have hung himself with his initial statement about being addicted to porn, which he later retracted. I bet that is enough for a search warrant for underage porn with his history.

The tragedy of Josh Dugger is that his parents used the Old Testament as a solution to their problems. Josh Dugger is 24 years old. I have much less sympathy for the so-called anonymous moral crusaders who dumped private information of people they've never met on the internet for all the world to see. Anonymous hackers lack the balls for morality, or anything else.

When you're raised in such a sexually repressive environment I don't know how you can NOT have issues with sex as an adolescent, let alone as an adult when you actually have the freedom to act.

This guy was going through puberty, homeschooled and sheltered, in a house with several girls also going through puberty. Due to their religious beliefs, he was probably not taught properly about sex and the female body. I can see how easily a situation arose there.

He was probably taught that the natural urge to have sex was wrong and that he needed to fight his body. His parents probably reiterated that after those incidents a great deal.

After that kind of repression, you can't expect someone not to act out sexually when they're able to do so as an adult. Whether it's porn, infidelity, obsessions, etc, it will manifest itself.

I wasn't there and I don't know for sure, these are just my findings in talking to people, and growing up with people in similar situations. It doesn't strike me as anything unusual that this happened in that family.

Edit: Also, a lot of people seem to be bringing pedophilia into it. A 14 year old attracted to other adolescents is totally normal. If he wasn't attracted to other adolescents as an adolescent himself, that would be abnormal. A 14 year old attracted to or having sexual contact with similarly aged individuals does not make you a pedophile as an adult. The real issue is that he did not have the consent to do what he did.

Yea I am sure his 5 year old sister was a total participant with his "transgressions".

None of them seem to have been willing participants. But I was under the impression this only happened with the older girls. Do you know where you learned that? I would like to clarify it, if i'm wrong.

The radio news just announced that he also had a fake FB account, schmoozing various women and strippers.

After getting caught in the Ashley Madison leak, Josh Duggar has issued three revised statements ... and counting.

The earliest versions of his statement included references to Satan and pornography that have since been removed.

"The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, in my heart I had allowed Satan to build a fortress that no one knew about," Duggar, 27, wrote in the first edit on his family's website.

That sentence vanished as of Friday. A second edit removed Duggar's admission of a pornography addiction, which survived the first round of cuts: "I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction."

The current, third version, also changes Duggar's phrasing on being unfaithful. "I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife," he wrote.
