John Walsh - Talk Show Host?

John Walsh is one of the few people I can think of that truly makes my skin crawl. He probably started out with the best of intentions, but I can't help thinking that he has clawed his way to his fifteen minutes of fame over the grave of his murdered child.

The thought of him hosting a daily talk show makes me happy that I have a day job.

His television show has helped put thousands of criminals behind bars. Would you rather have them out on the streets?

I was a resident of Florida when John Walsh's child was abducted and brutally murdered. The man has been responsible in one form or another for getting these non-humans off of our streets...behind bars...and sooner(hopefully than later) these non-human scurges upon humanity will be taking their eternal dirt naps.

If I had to endure the loss of one of my children in the same fashion that John Walsh did, you can bet your ass that I'd be loading my shotgun, not starting up a TV show like he did. As for hosting a talk show, more power to him... maybe he can do a little more good for his cause.

I don't think he used his son's tragedy to get his 15 minutes of fame. I firmly believe that he would trade every instant of it just to get his son back.

He's done a tremendous amount for missing and exploited children as well as justice. These things necessarily require the public eye because dissemination of information to the most amount of people possible brings in criminals.

Anyway.

John Walsh was instrumental in the creation and the passing of the Missing Children Act of 1982 and the Missing Children's Assistance Act of 1984. The MCAA of 84 founded the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which maintains a toll-free hotline number (1-800-THE-LOST) to report a missing child or the sighting of one. If it weren't for John Walsh, we wouldn't have this resource now. He spearheaded it.

Sure, he's made money off of his TV, movies, and books that came from the tragedy. The man's got to live somehow. I also know that he donates a great deal of it to benefit missing and exploited children. I don't think he's exploiting his son's tragedy, I think he's harnessed it for something positive.

I think I'd rather have him doing that than sitting somewhere quietly whiling away the years. He's doing something that benefits children everywhere, not just himself.

He is doing a day time talk show. I saw the promo on my local NBC station last night. I assume its a syndicated show, so check your local stations.

I was being serious when I said John Walsh for President. I'd vote for him. I bet a lot of people would.

I'd damn sure hate to be a 'bad guy' with him running the country. He is one strong willed son of a bitch. Sort of a next generation John Wayne.

John Walsh is a good man who had to go through somthing that nobody should EVER have to endure. His child was kidnapped and murdered. For a parent I can't think of a worse tragedy, especially in the light of recent national events. He's used the loss of his son in a positive and beneficial way. Will it bring his son back? No. But it may allow him to sleep easier at night knowing the perhaps he avenged his loss in some manner, while sparing other parent the same pain inflicted on him.
