OK, this is ment to be something of a mishmash board. Post on any of the following:

What are some of the jobs you have given your characters?

What might be a good job to give a character?

What are some of the jobs of characters you really like and remember (as a reader)

What if any reserch goes into/should go into a characters job?

What is your job and what kind of sex story does it inspire?

I know these are stupid questions, but I just wanted to start a discussion on the topic.

well, currently I am thinking/working on a story, where the job is important.

There is this teacher. She is cool, but not to experienced, when it comes to sex (or at least, she never had anal sex). Now, she meets a former student of her in an erotic situation. They have sex, and then, the student asks her if she wants to do anal. When the teacher confesses that she is an anal virgin, the student offers to teach her everything .... so now, this time, the student teaches the teacher.

but I have to say, there is something about your thread that I don't understand. Less then 1 hour after you posted it, you come back and ask for answers ? Usually, you see something like that from a newbie, but you are an experienced poster .....

A shoestore story involving a salesperson with a foot fetish might be interesting, especially if a gorgeous 6'3" amazon who plays college basketball walks in one day and the salesperson is pressed to the limit trying to control his desire for her large yet feminine and painted feet.

Or a deepsea marine biologist story where the scientist, exploring a deep trench for the first time, comes across an ancient community of gilled-yet-attractive merpeople, who have a very open and sensual civilization.

The shoestory idea gives me another idea.

There is this guy, selling shoes to this gorgeous babe. She wears a short skirt, and when the salesperson looks up from below, he sees that she doesn't wear panties ....

I like teachers or any one who has direct contact with others.

Personally I like to use my own. I am a middle aged business owner who acts childish at times. I have the freedon to travel, meet people of importance. I have the ability to present myself as nothing more than a customer to employees, but can make grown men quiver with my actions and influence. The three piece suit is very intimidating though it is much more fun to show up in wacky clothes and swim trunks.
Keep them guessing is entertaining and screws with the mind.

Why is it great for stories because I have no time clock to punch. I can travel to exotic places at a whim. Yes I have a normal car but I also like to have toys too. Several houses and again I am meek to displace my wealth to the average passer. Makes it zany, although sometimes it borderlines unrealistic. I think most Americans and others dream of being flamboyant but hidden.

Things I like to remeber is you have to have class treat a woman right and live life like it is the last day, every day.

As far as females I am very attracted to Teachers, executives, the higher knowledge professionals. Love a sharp dressed woman who can be very comfortable when out of the work place but still has manners and in the bedroom is a Jeckle and Hyde.

As far as the stories go most any profession has a great story even the shit sucker man (ceptic cleaner) Hell just think of all the condums he sees and stuff as he does his work. What if it is a freinds house and he knows his friend does not use condums.

How about the stock boy or girl who knows what is being shown as they restock the shelfs.

The fix it repair man working on the washer or any thing and comes across panties hidden/toys.

The truck driver and the veiws of passing motorists. Reststop stories.

The insurance agent, the sales man/woman, crime investigator, fireman/ policeman, UPS/Fed X guy/lady comes baring gifts...

Laughing, one of the best story jobs given was a while back a Carney as in a Carnival person who attend the rides. Pleasently looked up each skirt as the ride progressed. Having the ability to place females in an over the head position taking time to load other passengers in the next cart.
It was not the Job but the position he created with a little bit of perversion. The story went on and he takes this young female, and the next day the Carnival leaves and so does he.

Every Job has the potential to be erotic just some are more potentially available depending on the amount of people they encounter.

As Howard Stern (douche bag) made obvious 1 out of a 100 women will if asked have casual sex with a stranger even a fair to poor looking guy. And 1 out of 40 men will have casual sex with a medium to poor looking female if asked.

I was always told the only stupid question is the one you never ask!
Now but Sweets I am asking what about you? (refering to the Job questions not casual sex) (but feel free to answer both
:D)

I just picked up a book from the Writer's Digest Book Club all about careers for characters. It was a quick overview of the basic education, duties, salaries, and whatnot for a selection of modern-day folks in categories such as law enforcement, medicine, education, etc. Haven't had a chance to really go through it yet, but it looks promising.

Well - most of my novels, and some of my short stories are about a post-grad Topologist at Oxford who wakes up one morning to discover that he is the Emir of Kobekistan, and the absolute ruler of three million people. I always thought I would have enjoyed being an absolute ruler, as a change from studying Topology.

See this story.

I avoid jobs- real life is boring, Lit is escape. I have used situastinal jobs ( prof, librarian, minister) and silly jobs ( porn website operator). I have workplace series but never make it clear whhat they do.

I have a bdsm character who is a security consultant- allows him to be home during the day, travel, etc.

A lot of my characters are students.

Actually, no it isn't. It's meant to be a story ideas board, which is more specific than you might think:

It's *not* meant to be a place to pump one's own work, to flirt, to spam, to chat or to plagiarize.

It *is* mean to be a place where people exchange ideas leading to the future production of stories (hopefully for the site).

See, pretty simple.

^---Don't mind me. I'm all bitchy tonight.

(And sweetnpetite, I don't mean to target you. This post just gave me an occasion to express a little bitterness. Nothing personal. :rose: )

I know these are stupid questions, but I just wanted to start a discussion on the topic.
Character attributes are not story ideas so much as fragments of potential ideas. If we're going to continue these types of threads, please try to develop them further as part of the discussion.

Happy Monday, everyone.

I agree with your definition of the purpose of the board , RS, ( though I do engage in pimping my stories and think a lot of people like being directed to stories that suit their needs ( I pimp strangers stories too).

Within that, I suggest that discussing aspects of ideas is part of the creative process, and should be given some latitude.

That could be arranged.

PS Forget it. If you pay me, I'll have to pay Chicklet for putting her in a book before I even knew about Literotica.
