Damn. An early Friday getaway for once. Everyone thinks that owning your own company gives you all sorts of freedom. Little do they acknowledge all the responsibilities that go along with it.
But he wasn't going to ponder on that as he got home by noon and started his preparations for his nephew and his girlfriend to arrive for a two week stay. He rarely had company being single and some what of a recluse. At 48 and well off, he enjoyed his privacy and expansive lakeside home.
His nephew Scott and girlfriend Kim were about to move in for two weeks as they moved to this area. He could never have denied his sister's request to put them up. Though not severely close, he could never deny her anything, even though this was a big request.
Scott & Kim would be here soon, but Scott would be flying out tomorrow on a two week business trip. So, basically, a two week visit from Kim as she house hunted for them.
Both in their early 20's, he wondered how much they had in common and how "old" they thought he was.
Crap on it, Jim decided to enjoy the challenge and see what happened. There was always his yard work and boats to keep him active.
And though he had never met Kim, he had heard a bit about her from his sister...a lithe workout nut with a very free spirit. What the hell does that mean.
As he sat on the back deck waiting for them to arrive and having a second brew. A text comes in from Scott....
**Had to head out early....Kim should be there shortly Unc Jim.... thanks for helping us out so much....**
He can't even respond and he hears the doorbell ring.....
