Jewish words for Gentiles

My question is this. What word might a Jewish-American use in addressing a non-Jewish (Gentile) friend face to face? The addressee would be a young male or female.

Three that I've come across on the internet are 'goy' which seems to apply to both sexes, 'shegetz' in reference to a male, and 'shiksa' for a non-Jewish girl or woman. All 3, however, appear to be derogatory. Are there any non-derogatory terms that a Jewish-American might call a Gentile friend in a friendly, perhaps teasing fashion?

Thanks.

Goy is neutral. it's only insulting when the speaker makes it so by voice tone. :)

Why would anyone want to use such an expression? . What's wrong with their name ?
Or have I missed something - again ?

So it's a goy-girl thing, eh? :)

Ought to be a song, "My Little Goy Girl," and a couple of ways to twist it.

I do know that 'Goyim' is plural for non-Jewish (Gentile) persons.

'Shiksa' designates a non-Jewish (Gentile) woman.

'Goy', 'Goyim' and 'Shicksa' are often used in a pejorative context among Jewish people when talking about Gentiles among themselves.

Mine call me Matthew. Do your friends call you things based on your race or ethnicity often? You might not have good friends.

Matthew, you are the reason I stopped posting stories on Literotica. Below is the Report I submitted after I read your comment/put-down:

@LiquidMatthew "Mine call me Matthew. Do your friends call you things based on your race or ethnicity often? You might not have good friends."
This response to my query, Jewish Words for Gentiles," shows why I stopped posting stories on Literotica several years ago. Every single time I posted a question or comment in Author's Hangout, it was greeted with a sneer and rude put-down. Most seem to post there only to remind everyone that they are a better writer than John Upton or that they've forgotten more about literary criticism than Dorothy Parker ever knew.
I concluded that too many people on Literotica were egotistical, repugnant (fill in expletive of choice). I have since found another site whose posters are far more civil and likable. It was a mistake to post my query on Literotica - one that I will not make again...

I think you are making too much out of his comment. If I had commented, mine would have been about the same. The Jewish friends I have, call me by my name like everyone else.

Sorry you got your feelings hurt but it seems you were looking for a reason to get them hurt. Good luck on the other site.

I don't think it's really any different from women who call their friends "bitch" in a teasing way. Well, some women do that anyway. I think you missed the "teasing" part. People do tease each other and use names in those contexts that would otherwise be insulting.

You asked a question and I answered. I made no comments about writing ability. I'm just trying to help. If you have a character address friends by ethnic group rather than name, you should be aware how readers might judge that character. Ignore me if you can't deal with it.
