Sounds like an unwanted sexual advance and sexual misconduct against a victim who retaliated. The stabbed one told a friend he want to fuck the other dude, that he was in the closet (implying the misconduct victim wanted to get fucked but was too shy to admit it) and then the now deceased tried to kiss him without enthusiastic consent.

#Metoo isn't just for women, and men whether hetero or homo need to check themselves before forcing themselves upon someone else simply because they want to fuck them. Sometimes the victim will fight back.
