jesus OK. F4+

Peels paint off from the sides of cars. F5?

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 90 STATUTE
MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 95 MILES WEST OF SAINT LOUIS
MISSOURI TO 15 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF SPRINGFIELD ILLINOIS

You know what to do....

(Tell me about that, sometime. OK ?)

Has anyone else noticed that the climate seems to be changing? And that weather events are getting more severe? And that places that usually have had had more mild weather events are clearly having more powerful and destructive storms of all types?

You mean OK in the center of the tornado belt, during tornado season.

I think Bert lives in the same state I do but I am not sure. It was crazy I went to get a pop at the gas station last eveing and the wind just started swirling out of no where and limbs of trees went everywhere. It wasn't a tornado but I was just wondering if other parts of the state got it bad. It does seem to me like we are getting more severe weather.

children were trapped in the elementary school when the tornado went over moore, ok. one mile wide, two mile destruction zone.

Jesus - I am watching coverage of this right now.
I have to ask.... if you live in a tornado-prone area, wouldn't you make Damn sure you built a safe underground bunker under your house?
Or move?

It's a god damn disaster, estimated 60 square miles of devastation.

I can see. The pictures are shocking :(

Why would anyone voluntarily live in a tornado-prone area? Especially as similar has happened before?

All of the Midwest is prone to it. OK just happens to be right in the middle.

I just heard that many schools there don't actually have storm shelters. That some just have 'safe areas' - rooms in central areas away from external walls and windows.
How the heck can a school NOT have a storm shelter???
