excerpt:
MS. BURKE: Just a quick question on inflation. Many people believe that government spending is a big factor in the current inflation levels. Can you speak to concerns [Psaki tilts head] that spending plans that come out of Build Back Better aren’t paid for and — so could mean higher deficits and more inflation in the future?

MS. PSAKI: Aren’t paid for?

MS. BURKE: Right.

MS. PSAKI: Build Back Better is paid for.

[pregnant pause so long it gives birth to triplets who then proceed to get into prestigious preschool]

MS. BURKE: Can —

MS. PSAKI: Entirely.

MS. BURKE: Okay. Can you speak to the concerns that are coming in that it’s not actually —

MS. PSAKI: Who are the concerns from, though? But who’s saying it’s not paid for?

[pause so awkward it puts on a custom Boba Fett cosplay tuxedo and goes to a middle school formal and asks someone to dance]

worth reading the entire transcript; the editorial asides are fab :)

the reporter, Caitlin Burke, admitted later on a podcast that she was totally unprepared and it was embarrassing.

The woman should have been prepared for that, because Psaki has shown over this past year that she won't let reporters get away with these "many people are saying" insinuations.

But Jen was a good sport. She could have let her twist a LOT longer than she did. I want to say I hope it was a good learning experience, but if the woman works for CBN she's probably not on that fast track to a Peabody Award.

Christian Broadcasting Network?! How do they even qualify for WH press credentials?!

Lord help these fools.

If I were Press Secretary, I would be gas facing ALL of these wannabe schmucks. Just twisting screws to see how far they can go with their misleading bullshit. Walk off the podium and just stand there in front of 'em. Laugh in their face and then go, "NEXT!"

ah, but decorum must prevail. :D

Psaki is one of the smartest Press Secretaries ever to take on that post. At first, I thought maybe she just appeared that way because of the string of lying hacks that Trump had hired for that position, but Psaki has staying power.

She is a powerhouse.

She is awesome. Incredibly smart and poised.

She definitely has way more dignity, self respect and class than the sock puppets who mouthed the words for Putin's sock puppet. I hope the puppet's puppets didn't get paid much to sell their souls on a daily basis.
